I'm told by a long-time Bloomington-area listener that ISU operations (other than campus police) had previously used the Cleartalk system. He gave those legacy ISU Cleartalk talkgroups a listen for a day and a half and heard no activity. He believes that the new STARCOM21 talkgroups (in the 4031-4050 range so far) are likely the ISU operations (dorms, heating plant, Braden, Horton, golf course, grounds, etc.)
that used to be on Cleartalk.
Explains why ISU bought a boat load of used APX 7000s from DuPage ETSB. 7/8-UHFs

Maybe not the correct place to ask but would the unication be a good choice to monitor the Madison county simulcast on Starcom 21?

I have not listened to that particular site but I have listened to Indianapolis and Champaign Illinois which are simulcast systems that my 396 and 436 struggle on and the G4 pick some up flawlessly.

Also the range is incredible. It can pick up sites that the Uniden scanners I have don't even know our transmitting! Ican hear the SAFE-T sites from the adjacent counties in all directions from me.

The only negative is you can only listen to one system at a time and can only monitor trunked or non-trunked at once. You can't mix systems or listen to multiple sites or listen to trunked and conventional at the same time.

Thanks. I do 99% listening to only one site and hopefully this will work out. Long Learning curve I suspect but, hopefully worth it.

@kb9klc I have used a Unication g5 in VHF & 7/800mhz and it works great on the Madison county simulcast site. A G4 in 7/800 mhz should suffice instead of the G5. I got the G5 to use with MOSWIN VHF sites. Downside to the G5 is that VHF uses an internal antenna, but the 7/800 uses the external one.

Thanks, I found a pretty good deal on a G5 which I'm hoping to go and pick up tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday, assuming all pans out and I an hook up with the guy. He's "supposed" to put a starter program in there for me but I'm trying to figure out how to get him what I'd like in it not being familiar with the programming as far as talk groups and the site info. That's a shame on the internal antenna on the VHF side but I guess anything is better than nothing. I've used the 436 and 536 and was able to get a favorite list programmed into it but I have ZERO knowledge of how the G5 programs at this time. Again, thanks!

I've been hearing 2/3-MI (Mary Ida)-x units today on ISP Troop 3-A with 7605x / 7606x RID's (2-MI-4, 2-MI-1,3-MI-2). Based on locations they're at, it would appear they're involved with IDPH Nursing Home licensing enforcement possibly? I never heard them before, or have seen RID's in that range.

Oak Brook is using 190xx RID's since Monday. Previously 191xx RID's for dispatch.

I was able to narrow this down based on locations they were at and the radio ID's which fall under previously confirmed Illinois Attorney Generals Office (760xx series).

"The Illinois Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) investigates and prosecutes: Medicaid provider fraud, misappropriation of patient or resident funds, patient abuse and neglect in Medicaid facilities."

I will guess MI is the acronym for Medicaid Investigators?

Does anyone know what "OF" and "YOU" means in the trunking "fashion" column? It is not defined when you click on hyperlink.

Troop 4 is affiliating on the DuPage site this morning and heard 4-MI-2 (4 Mary-Ida 2) with an RID 0f 433020. Looking at the Wiki since I don't have the 433xxx series documented on my list, this is a the block of RID's from the Illinois Attorney General's Office (Central-South). It would be safe to assume any MI (Mary-Ida) radio signatures in the middle are part of the Medicaid Investigations Unit of the Illinois Attorney Generals Office.

If I could, I would have.
But it would not allow me too.

It said that I was not allowed to edit the wiki, when I tried too.
Premium subscriber? If so, there's an edit feature available.

Yes, I am a premium subscriber.
And I still do not have the option to edit the wiki.
That is why I posted it here.

For an admin or another member can update it.
Figured it was Starcom related :)

Thank you for the info on the Sterling dispatch.
