jon: remove the card and use an external card reader to Clear User Data. Copy 1.14.00 to the firmware folder. Put in the card and power up. The firmware update process occurs before the boot screen process. But, I think it saw the same version update in the folder as already applied, so ignored it. Having a different version there, it should not ignore it.

Upman, Do you have a link for the 536 1.14.00 Firmware? Since like to have it on hand if anything goes wrong, even tho everything working excellent. Thanks

And believe it or not,

(a) In other places in the world, there are agencies using NXDN like the 3 fire departments near me;

(2) Not everybody shares your likes and dislikes. It should not be a surprise by now that somebody else might be interested in something you're not.

'a' That's wonderful!

'2' I don't doubt that at all, no one said they should. It has nothing to do with likes or dislikes. If there's no one around me using it, and/or nothing in those modes to listen to, what would be the point of having it?

The other user he replied to had asked, basically, "why in the world are people so excited about NXDN" to which he explained that just because it isn't where that person is, it is heavily used in some places. Many have the "I don't need it so why does anybody else?!?" attitude, which is self-absorbed.

Your comment was not as strong that way.

I'm everywhere Focker!
Im guessing Paul relpaced this copy of the bin file with the 1.14.0
Can anyone who got the early morning version PM me with the bin 1.15.0

Both of these are 1.15.00.

If you update via Sentinel it will download as 1.15.01, but is actually 1.14.00.

Why guess? Hover over them or click on them and see that they are the 1.15.00 versions you want.

Yeah I figured that out when I downloaded the wiki version and did not see the UID aliases.
Thats why I was asking for someone who had the forethought to save the bin before power cycling the radio and could send it (actual 1.15.0) to me.
Paul probably pulled it because of liability.
Oh well have to wait till monday or hopefully not till next firmware friday.
On a seperate note I actually liked the channel hold also holds the site.
hard and PITA to try and F + Site to hold site as well while driving.
Maybe have a menu option to say how the user wants the hold to function.

What are you talking about? The links you posted still work.

Yes they still work but I downloaded the 436 one and placed it in the scanners firmware folder and power cycled the radio. The scanner showed the scanner had 1.15.0 in the settings menu.
I went to a nxdn trunked system that I know has user aliases and none showed up so my guess is Paul or someone over there replaced it with the 1.14.0 just renamed it 1.15.0.
The file size of the wiki bin file 1.15.0 is the same as the 1.14.0.

The firmware will always be the same file size version to version.

If your scanner says the firmware is 1.15.0, that's what you have installed.

I'm getting mixed results with the NXDN Alias feature on the 436 compared to DSD+.

Tracking with DSD+, it properly shows both the UID and Alias in the Source and SrcAlias columns respectively..

With the 436, sometimes it will show the OTA Alias properly i.e "SPVSR M1" for UID 954. But other times it only shows the UID i.e. "UID: 946 but DSD+ shows the SrcAlias as "CRASH 2".

The file size of the wiki bin file 1.15.0 is the same as the 1.14.0.

They are always 2112 KB. No more. No less. That proves nothing.

Maybe the alias is not working on your local system, but that too is not proof the version is not 1.15.00.

@ Schumi1978: The alias comes at the beginning of the transmission. If it's missed, it will not show.
