Could be simply a simulcast from the console only and not a patch or the only system. There are quite a few CLMRN users that have it as a backup to the regular system or are not ready to switch yet.

Out of curiosity, who on the State side of the system is monitoring TG 2001? It is not Troopers on the road.

I am willing to bet it's what is referred to at al ATG (all talkgroup) channel. When a dispatcher keys up that particular talkgroup it keys up any number of talkgroups designated by the system administrator. ie all CSP dispatch channels for bolos or general announcements.

That way everyone can always be on their own channel and not have to worry about scanning an additional channel and the dispatcher doesn't have to make the same transmission multiple times.

There is talk that Newington is moving off of Marcus and on to the State System. Is this the state system?

I know the Chief has spoken highly in the past of keeping most comms unscrambled as a lot of tips come in from scanner listeners.

I went through this thread and there is a lot to digest. What do I need to receive this and continue to provide my scanner feed here to Broadcastify?

Thanks!

you will soon. when its busier you will see "no tuner avail" one sdr dongle stays on control channel. miss less transmissions. maybe you are in a slow part of CT but on site 28 Troop H Simulcast. It can get real busy and sometimes 3 are used. That's your pro there. just by listening. 2:30 -3:30pm and 10:30pm are busy. Let us know how you make out.

I have been in contact with Chief Clark of the Newington Police Department. It does appear they will be moving and he tells me they are testing now with good results.

He informed me that routine calls will be made in the clear, however they will also have an encrypted channel that they will use in times when they need privacy.

I am now setting up SDRTrunk and am picking up Troop H and Hartford Fire. SDRtrunk is reporting the system as P25-1 however I do see calls popping up which I don't have an alais set for showing them as P25-2. So I ASSume I am setup correctly.

I have also added the 10 aliases which are marked as "Test" in hopes to find Newington testing. I asked the Chief about the possible Talkgroup information and he didn't know that information. (He's not that technical) Hopefully it will be added to the RR database when its available.

Now I need to figure out this left / right channel thing, as I really don't like that. I seem to remember that SDRtrunk will record and queue calls and play them back in order if it gets busy. I think that would be better.

My entire reason for setting this up is to continue to stream the Newington Police, Fire and EMS service as I have been doing for the last 12 years. So if you guys have any SDRtrunk tips for me, they sure would be appreciated.

Those "test" talkgroups you have added might be anyone if it's in the 65XXX range.

I forget how to do it, but take newingtons tax code and i think add 10000 to it and that's the clmrn talkgroup - they get that whole 100 number(ie. 43000 -43999)

For the left and right voices, right click that text and select configure - I'm not to use after that but shouldn't be hard to figure out after that

this sounds right. I'm seeing the same and getting plenty of traffic with the state police talkgroups. i remember reading that even though the control channel was showing as phase 1, the voice channels were all on phase 2
