I monitor 4 and 12 on my XTS with no issue KSP dispatch channels aren’t that active most of the time I drove from Louisville to Richmond switching towers on post 12 today and I only heard them 4 times on the hour and a half drive down

I.m in Wayne Co. and get Post 11 at London from the Spann Hill tower. I can hear the troopers really well, but I cannot hear the dispatcher. Is there something going on? I can hear the Columbia post off the Danville tower, dispatcher and cars.

I'm missing KSP Etown on the Cloverport site again... This happened a few years ago and it was down awhile until it was operational again. I can barely hear Etown on Ekron. Anyone have any info?

I'm having the same issue with Post 7, A channel blows me out if they are ever on it and can't get the B channel to come in for nothing.

I've been listening to Post 7 from Scott County all day along with Post 12.
Can't figure out the problem, I have a Tram (I think 1410) about 25 feet in the air . It picks up everything under sun except Post 7 which I was getting fine. I can put the stock antenna on and get them distorted. By the way, thanks for all your doing on this Ky forum keeping everything updated.

Town post 4 emissions have reappeared from Cloverport site approx. Dec 3. Very strong signals!

Hello Everyone,

I have received information that over the next 5 years Kentucky State Police and current users of the UHF Radio system will be moving to 800MHz P25 Trunked. Before anyone starts saying this is unlikely and not true I can assure you it is. Attached to this message is a photo from the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Projects General Fund.

From what I understand Motorola APX 8000's have already been purchased and before any tower building and controller distribution happens they want to purchase all the subscriber equipment as well as network controller equipment. When towers start going up and applications are being filed it will be close to the cut-over date. A lot of work needs to be done in Eastern KY on towers and sites before anything starts changing completely.

I have been told encryption will be used on the system, to the extent I am not sure.

I do not see why here in West Ky current KSP tower sites would not work for their needs.
East Kentucky like Harlan and Areas to the east past Richmond, KY needs work, west ky sites are fine from what I understood. VRS's will be used

Based on KSP hiring a guy I know who had a big hand in Jefferson/Bullitt/Shelby county MetroSafe system, I'm sure they are full speed ahead on this project. I wonder if $130M is going to be enough to do that job right. Ten years ago, it cost Jefferson County $70M to go with a new system.

When I saw they hired him, I knew that system would be built right. They made a very good choice with him.

Question regarding Post 10 (Harlan)--Asher's Fork-Clay County Transmitter)...

I live like 10 minutes at most from Asher's Fork yet I can never get a reliable signal on that transmitter on channels A or B. I am using an outdoor antenna mounted on a pole, and with said antenna, I am able to receive post 13 Hazard traffic much better. Yet I live in the Post 10 area, albeit on the fringe.

Could this just be because the transmitter is weak?

It's pretty frustrating because I can pick up several Post 10 transmitters, but none are being received reliably (as in strong enough most of the time).
