Are the freqs for the helos usually active?

I don't remember the exact number but the Chinook flight hours are very, very low!!!

Just an FYI for everyone, the 171st AS officially kicked off its conversion to KC-135s in April. All C-130s will be gone by September this year, but the KC-135s wont move till '08.

Unfortunately no, the 171st is just getting the aircraft from the 927th as they give them up.

Airship 'SANYO 1 ' just contacted Selfridge to request permision to enter the 'Delta' airspace. What is the Delta airspace? How large of an area does Selfridge 'control'?

I know it is not military activity, but it is in Selfridge airspace. It was on 120.150 I found this blurb on the internet: St. Baldricks chairity event... SANYO NORTH AMERICA is donating a ride for four in the SANYO BLIMP! The lucky bidder can take their ride from one of many locations across the US and Canada where the blimp is scheduled to be. The SANYO blimp is scheduled to be in DETROIT this year on June 15, 17, 18, 19 and the 22nd

Just heard on MPSCS TG 1221 (Michigan Nat. Guard Tac) off the Sault Ste. Marie tower: "Sending runner until Viking Six can get there. Tell them to Stand ready." (Paraphrasing, as I can't remember exactly).

Couple questions:

1) Who is Viking 6?

2)I think this might be in reference to a Wildland fire due to the fact that they use "runners" to get messages to other crews. What do you guys think?

For the first time I've started picking up activity on 318.6, but the signal is too weak to actually hear whats being said. I have this listed as 'Selfridge NAF Operations'. Has anyone else heard the chatter and could let me know more details?

OK I heard '093' comming in to land so I'll assume 318.6 is associated w/ the Chinooks...

Odd 142.625

I was given this 142.625 freq maybe 2 years ago. Someone said it was MILAIR. I never really heard anything on it. And just today it is sounding like a Digital Control Channel. But in AM mode. Comes in strong in Chesterfield. You may have to turn the squelch down, but give it a listen. I heard something similar on 142.400 on 5-31-07. Any thoughts as to what is going on? Of course in the time it took me to type this, it now sounds like normal static.

On TG 1221 yesterday I heard Bushmaster 6, Bushmaster 5, and Bushmaster 7. They were talking about the need for more Ammo. It sounded as if they were doing field exercises. Any idea what unit(s) these might be?
