Proscan Server - Audio Issue On Client Side

Well I wanted to say first that I love this software, I think it's brilliant, and I will be purchasing it even if I can't figure out the one issue I'm having.

I've finally gone beyond listening to my BCD536HP (with WIFI dongle) over LAN with my laptop at home, and moved on to setting up a server so I can listen at work too. I have my test server running, and everything is good except for the audio on the client end (server side has great audio).

The audio on the client end is just awful, broken, distorted, and robotic. I don't think it's over-driven as far as I can tell, all levels on both ends (server and client) are ideal, just peaking in the yellow range. At first I figured it must be an internet issue with the other computers (outside of my home) that I've tried, so I accessed the server over my LAN but through the router IP (just like an outside computer would), and the issue was the same.

My connection is Cox, 5 megs up, 50 megs down. I run a Blue Iris video server through this connection and there are no issues for clients outside of the LAN streaming 1080p video with sound, so I believe my connection is more than capable, or at least it should be. In case anyone wonders, I did shut down my Blue Iris server just in case, it made no difference though. I'm sure this issue is caused by a setting somewhere, but for the life of me I just can't figure it out....at least not yet. I did a bit of thread searching but found nothing relevant to this issue, so I apologize if I am starting a new threat on an old topic.

Try setting the Audio as G729 and not MP3. My RSOIP did the same thing until I changed the audio output.

Metadata Delay

Bob,

How is the Web Server Metadata Delay stored? Is it by IP address? It often seems to go back to 0 when I connect to the web page each time. And the setting of one instance seems to be copied to other instances.

Bob great work as usual. How about putting a donation link on your site so that people like me can throw a few dollars your way? I for one, have more than gotten my monies worth from ProScan over the years and have owned it since about version 5.0.

Hello, I can not connect to proscan is anyone else having this problem

Yes site down. I'm trying to get this resolved with my host provider HostGator. They are telling me it's a Godaddy problem and I'm 100% sure it's a HostGator problem with the DNS Zone config.

It may be a day before my site comes up. It seems HostGator changed the name servers on me and has to propagate the dns change.

I was thinking of setting up my own server sometime ago and may do it after all.

What happens is a couple of days ago I looked into installing a SSL cert. I found out I had to upgrade the host package first so I upgraded. The SSL install was automatic. Last night when I was fooling around with the htaccess file, I started to loose the site. I thought it was me. This morning, I discovered the name servers(pri. and sec.) changed on me even though the FAQ said they wouldn't change. I changed the name servers in godaddy and now waiting for them to propagate.

BOB - could you post the ip address so one could go direct and bypass DNS?

Need to purchase a license.

You can try but I don't think it will work. Here is the IP for proscan.org --> 192.185.5.206
Apparently HostGator doesn't allow accessing by IP. I can access the cPanel by IP but that's it. Part of my troubleshooting was finding another site hosted by HostGator that's up and accessing it by IP.

This one I can not access by IP either
marclandryphotography.com IP is 192.254.186.143

Update on site down.
I'm waiting for the DNS Propagation. It takes from 24 to 48 hours on extensions other than .net and .com. I kept checking the setup to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Since I'm on a shared plan, many servers use the same IP address. That explains why typing in the IP address didn't work. I had to modify the http host header and now can access my site using the ip address.

{edit} One of the tools I'm using. https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/proscan.org
Once the A records go green, should be okay. The NS records went green a few hours after changing the name servers names in Godaddy.
