What's New In Version 12.12
  • Fixed - Importing from RRDB and clipboard NXDN, RAN tones was importing as DCS tones on conventional frequencies.
  • Fixed - BCDx36HP Favorites Editor - Department and Dept / Site Quick Key Status broke.

  • I haven't been able to use Get Clipboard to import radio ID's. Get Clipboard seems to work everywhere else. Paste and Get Clipboard are not selectable. I had copied the UID's from Excel. Am I doing something wrong or are these not supported for importing UID's?

    Thanks,

On 12.11 - when editing the location settings for a site/department/etc., I cannot enter the decimal point in the "range" editbox. For example if I want to enter 12.5, and I type '1' '2' '.' '5', I see 125.

Going to Google Maps and moving the circle on the map then hitting Update fills in the proper value.

Fixed. Will be in next version

When I download my 436, Proscan removed any "decimal points" that were in the Alpha/text tag field. So if I had a text tag of 460.3500 it removed the period/decimal point and the text field became 4603500. I am not talking about the field for the actual freq, just so there is no confusion.

What do you mean by "download" ? 436 terminology is more of read from scanner. Just making sure we are on the same page. What do you mean by "Alpha/text tag"? Is that Channel Name on convention frequencies. Don't mean to be rude but we have to keep the terminology straight so we don't confused ourselves even more.

Yes I READ the radio and Yes the Channel Name. No problem at all. I should have used the proper terms to start with.

So my 536 is on a truck for delivery and I'm new to all of this. I know long term I'll be loading up Proscan. I want to make sure there isn't a compelling reason to start out using it, or if I'm better getting the scanner set up, then add Proscan to the mix. Any suggestions are appreciated. :)

You will need to use Sentinel to do Firmware updates. There is one that it will need. Also to update the Full database if you use it.

I'm finding that when attempting to use the Utilities/Sort feature, it hangs, and then crashes the program. I'm only attempting to sort one system.

Need more info such as version, scanner type, sorting type, & sorting items.

Windows 10
ProScan Version 12.12 (latest)
BCD436HP
Sort type: by Quick Keys (Favorites, Systems/Depts and Sites checked)

Also, trying to sort by TG ID's. Either method freezes, ("Not Responding") then crashes the program.

I can't duplicate the problem.

Okay, It seems to work now.

As soon as I click on "Sort", I get the spinning busy indication, then I get "Not Responding" in the sort dialog box window, if I click on anything else. But this time, I just ignored it and let it continue as long as it needed. Eventually it finished. (couple of minutes?)

Number tags: Is there a way to sequentially assign number tags, from low to high, without manually clicking on each entry?

I'm sorry to waste your time, I've read the ProScan help PDF and the first 70 or so pages of this thread. I just want to verify that I cannot program a BCD536HP via Proscan. If I can, can someone point me to a thread or post where it shows how to do it.

If sentinal is the answer for programming, then I'm OK with that too. Just a misunderstanding on my part and I'll figure out how to work with sentinal and I'll use proscan for streaming. :p

Yes, you can program a 536 with ProScan. You just can't update the full database, firmware, or profile settings.

https://www.proscan.org/proscan_features.html

If you have ProScan installed, click on the "Favorites Editor" menu.

OK, I played around with that, importing/exporting from sentinal. I just haven't really figured it out yet. I'll keep tinkering. Kinda drinking from a firehose right now. LOL

You really need a subscription to RR to use Proscan (to load data from RR).

Personally, I use a combo. of both. One of the great features of Proscan is the ability to import a RR page, use the direct entry method. Good for systems that have listings like All of a state's railroads, muti-state systems, etc.

Proscan is also good for find - replace features.

I still use Sentinel for most of my heavy lifting, plus keep all my Fav. Lists in Sentinel. Just need to be careful to not screw up :)

Thanks, that confirms the way I'm reading it. Maybe all this info is starting to sink in to this thick skull.:p I'm going to get a little more comfortable operating the 536 / sentinal / proscan before I add more variables at this point, though RR premium is in the near future.
