Scanner BCD996P2
mp3 format
15.2
both types of systems, If I do a Custom Search it records
The recording Grid shows a few but when you play back a 10 second recording takes a second from start to finish.
I noticed the recordings will start after I already heard audio from the scanner.
I need to check it out some more .

Since you mentioned that it worked in 15.2, revert back to 15.2 to see if it does the same thing. Here is the link to 15.2. Install it in the same folder that 15.3 is in so it will use the the same config.

No changes in the recorder between 15.2 and 15.3 but just need to be sure. I suspect it does it in 15.2 too.

I have an issue when trying to connect with the stand alone client where i get an error saying (scanner type changed)

I have changed from a BCT15x to a SDS200E recently and have changed the scanner in the server software.

I can connect using the full software in client mode though and it shows the SDS200E fine?

Any ideas?

The Free Client doesn't support the SDS200E at this time.

Weird problem driving me crazy and I am sure it simple!

Running ProScan 15.3 and all working ok there. Scanner Display (BCD536HP), audio, wifi, all good.

Running the Free Remote Client on another machine, audio works, but the display doesn't.

I tried rebooting both machines, stopping starting both ProScan and the Remote Client.

Any ideas?

I don't know what would cause this.
Does the History log show activity?
Go to the Test & Extra tab and do you see the received data?
Click the Virtual Display Test checkbox and do you see the virtual display with test data?

Yes, history log shows activity.

Where is the Test and Extra Tab and Virtual Display Test checkbox in the Free Remote Client? (or is that only in the licensed client?)

I see data in the Test and Extras tab on my licensed client and the licensed client is working ok, the scanner display is working and audio is working rock solid since the latest update (15.3).

(running the free client because I only have one license and that is running on the dedicated system :)

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. same thing. Audio is fine, history is fine.

On the licensed copy, the Remote Scanner over IP is showing the client connected as Type M
On the Free Remote client, it shows as connected.

If I connect to the web page, the scanner display shows.

Something else I noticed on 15.3, I go to the recordings tab, click a row to play it, click Play. After about 1/2 sec it turns green, the display does a single update and then ProScan is locked up. Cant minimize or do anything. I right click on it in the task bar, click close, it tells me clients are connected do I want to close (while this is displayed, Proscan is responding, display is updating, etc...). Not sure its related to the other problem.

And as soon as I post this -- it starts working -- geez -- it hasn't worked for days LOL
And I didn't change anything.

BUT, the lockup when I try to play recordings on the licensed client issue is still there :(

WiFiNetGuy:

I believe that is a limitation when using RDP.

I believe RDP (client side) has an option whether to play audio on local machine, or remote machine. The options are available on the RDP client before you connect to the remote host.

After upgrading to 15.3 and the continuing after upgrading to 15.4 the ProScan icon on the Windows 7 desktop, start menu and task bar turned to generic. The regular icon shows when the update is installing but then goes to and remains generic. The proper icon shows when looking at the ProScan properties and the change icon tab but the displayed icon remains generic.

I temporarily "fixed" it by changing the shortcut icon to an icon from the Win7 dll file. I then tried to change it back to the ProScan.exe icon and it again reverted to generic.

The image shows the audio received from the scanner Wi-Fi. Is the problem with the audio not heard in the computer speakers? If yes, go to the Monitor & Test tab. Select RSOIP then check the Loopback checkbox.

I don't understand this statement. Perhaps reword it.

{edit} The Playback side will not show audio. That is for RSOIP Clients.

I don't see a problem. I did a test by deleting the desktop shortcut icon then installed ver 15.4. The Desktop icon appears okay.
Can you test by installing ver 15.2 (if that's the last version that worked for you) https://www.proscan.org/ProScan_15_2.zip
and see if the icon appears okay.

Anyone else have this problem?

{edit} I did a google search "desktop icon wrong". A lot of links on the subject. I looked at a few quickly. It could be the iconcache needs clearing or the desktop Themes are changing it, etc..

Well, I fixed it and I suspect something with installation of a prior download caused an Iconcache problem. When the problem first occurred I had read the links about that issue that mostly involved messing with the registry. I did not want to do that for a problem just affecting ProScan.

I had deleted the 15.2 download but still had the 15.1 zip so I unzipped and installed it along with the desktop shortcut option. The shortcut came up with the stock icon I had selected but at least not back to the generic. I then started ProScan and let it restore current 15.4. Still had my stock icon on the shortcut so tried shortcut properties/change icon again. It offered me the correct ProScan Icon so I clicked OK and it told me I needed Admin privileges to apply the change so I did that and all is well.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like it was an install glitch in my system vs Iconcache and not a ProScan problem.
