I'll check it out before the next release.

If you discover a bug, sent an email to support@proscan.org . The advantage of email is so I can ask questions and send you production quality files with additional testing to help fix the bug. The person reporting the bug will get the fix sooner then waiting for the next release.

Bug Reports - Advise on the following:
  • Product (ProScan, Free Client, or RadioFeed):
  • Version:
  • Scanner type:
  • Scanner firmware version:
  • OS type:
  • Options pertaining to the bug:
  • Describe in detail what the bug is doing or not doing:

Aside from my issue... I want to say thank you for your software. And honestly, as fast as you replied... I'm very impressed and it proves it was money well spent for a great product. I've only had one other commercial company respond like this and work with me in detail to debug their software. Thank you very much!

You're very welcome.

I compared the 15.2 and 15.4 code files handling the data side and they are identical so I don't know what it is at this point.

Can you do the following:
1. Test with 15.4 again
2. Power cycle the scanner again
3. For a test, disable any anti-virus software to see if problem goes away
4. Check the audio URL Setup to see if high Packet Loss which could be caused by low Wi-Fi signal or interference

If still a problem, email me so I can send test files to see what's going on and get it fixed if it's a ProScan problem.

I'll eat my words... after restarting the scanner again, and upgrading from 15.2 to 15.4 everything has been running fine for the past 2 hours with no issues and .01% packet loss. Audio has been fine. This was not the case repeatedly before. Maybe the uninstall/reinstall helped things a bit rather than upgrading as I had done prior from 15.1 to 15.4.

Thanks for your quick responses.

I am having trouble getting my scanner to come alive. It's plugged in via a USB cable. What do I do next?

It says check port?

I see you have a SDS200 based on your other postings. I take it you can't get ProScan to communicate with the scanner. If using the USB connection then you need the driver installed. See this link and the Windows Serial Drivers section. Follow the instructions exactly. The SDS200 serial driver is the same as the BCD536HP driver.

After the driver is installed, click the Comm. Port menu then in the Comm. Port Settings, click the Auto Detect button.
Advise if it works or not.

Also the scanner has to be in Serial Port mode. Press the ". / No" key when prompted after the scanner has been powered on or the USB cable reinserted.

Thanks for the manual and the driver. I will try to figure serial port mode. I pushed the no button and I got a page that is blank.

I don't see anything on the device manager.

I can't determine if the scanner is in Serial Port Mode

I have tried everything in this thread so far

The Device Manager should show like the image below. The scanner is in Serial Port mode if it shows a regular display and not "USB Mass Storage" message.

The driver isn't installed. Go back to this post
ProScan: - Official Software Thread

Does the scanner show a regular display and not "USB Mass Storage" message? If so, then it is in Serial Port mode.
The "NO/PRI" key is the correct key. If you press that when prompted after a power cycle or re-inserting the USB cable then it will go into Serial Port mode. If you do not press any keys, it will still go into Serial Port mode after a timeout.

I just load the Windows Serial Driver? Not the firmware upgrade?

We're not talking firmware. See the Windows Serial Drivers section. Follow the instructions exactly. The SDS200 serial driver is the same as the BCD536HP driver.

If the driver is installed correctly then it should say "Uniden" like the image I posted. If it doesn't then that has to be resolved.

I downloaded the driver. It only shows two files and those files do nothing. Are we sure the link is good?
