Very nice release Bob.

I'm impressed with the new print capability. The formatting is very nice. The ability to select summary or detail (all parameters) is very nice. Multiple outputs (print, csv, html) is very nice.

Your attention to detail is really appreciated.

Thanks Randy for the positive comments as they are always appreciated. Negative comments also appreciated so I can evaluate areas to improve.

Hi,

New user to Pro Scan software, am using the free 30 day trial to see how it works with my Uniden BC780XLT. I have used the web import here at radioreference to setup a file and it works fine. My question is, how can I sort channels and/or talkgroups in ascending order? I have tried looking for it in the software as well as in the Pro Scan forums but I'm not seeing it anywhere. Is this a feature of the software? Any help appreciated.

On the non DMA database type, currently there's no sort capability. It's on the todo list along with find duplicates and left & center justify text tags

I recently did the sort, find duplicates, and left & center justify text tags for the DMA database type.

Thanks, that explains why I'm not seeing it. Great software, BTW!

I was wondering if on the uploading of the database to the scanner, if an option to "overwrite an existing system with the same name" could be added?

Negative. Suggestions emailed to me are maybe.
That way I can organize them, find them, get more input, prioritize them, send out preview copies, etc...

Hey Bob I love the software that allows me to keep a log of all the Mass & NH channels but since I do have a pro-2096 scanner from Radio Shack I was wondering if by any chance you can make one for those kind of scanners? Best wishes to you.

Bob, I'm having WAY too much fun with this. I'll be getting a copy early in July. Very cool, I think it should be the standard. It makes me want to get the BCD996XT sooner LOL!!

Great work!

I'm assuming ProScan is communicating with the scanner. ProScan is very versatile with many types of setups but I will give you the steps to the most common setup.

In the Web Server / ScanCast tab, click the button labeled "Metadata Source" located on the right side.

Click the option "This ProScan Instance - Custom Format"
and type in the custom formatters "%L2 %L1"
Where:
%L2 = Line 2
%L1 = Line 1

Hit the OK button.
To see what is being sent out, look below the "Metadata Source" button and the data will show there.

To view the text tags in a media player, you will need a media player that supports metadata such as WinAmp or Real Audio.

Is there "Military" in the Service Search menu?
Menu - Search for . . . Service Search

Public Safety
News
Ham Radio
Marine
Railroad
Air
CB Radio
FRS/GMRS/MURS
Racing
FM BROADCAST
Special

THis is off of my 996XT

This seems to be missing still...?

With a BCD996XT I have a Military Air between FM Broadcast and Special...

Thanks

Would it be possible to use a GPS receiver with Proscan. I'm going on a trip and taking my 996XT with my and I would like to use Proscan to record but also to control what channels are on/off via GPS. I have one of those USB GPSs that come with MS Streets and Trips and would rather use that on my laptop with proscan then to fork out $150+ for a serial GPS for the scanner which I will only ever use once.

Or if not proscan is there an app that will do it.

Since proscan already imports all the GPS info I thought it would be a useful function to have it control the scanner via GPS too.

I'm not clear on your question but could be because I've had very little sleep lately programming ProScan.

If you're asking about a feature in ProScan that can do that. The answer is no as ProScan doesn't talk to GPS devices. If you're requesting a feature. It depends on the demand and so far, you're the only one that brought that up.
