When I installed ProScan 16.2, it tried to create a new subfolder. So c:\ProScan becomes c:\ProScan\ProScan
When it asks if you want to install into the folder, simply check to see if it shows double ProScan folders. If you install it and you seem to lose all your settings, use File Explorer to go to ProScan and see if there is a new ProScan subfolder in that one.

The installer seems to work the same as always. No changes in this area. It will remember the last time ProScan was installed and will default to the same folder. For a test, you could start the installer and see if the same folder is selected.
