ProScan: Official Software Thread
Yep, I updated some 16 instances across two computers from Ver 16.1 to 16.2 and did not hit a single problem.
I can always tell it's installing to the correct folder as the ProScan installer will warn me that I'm installing to an existing folder and ask if I'm sure I want to install into this folder anyway. I always answer yes of course. When done with all instances, I'll start each instance and make sure it starts with the version I just installed and that it is also showing the correct scanner model and file paths. I've never had any issues.
Is anyone else running the latest version of Norton on Windows? Norton elevated the file's risk from Medium [in my previous screen shot] to "Bad" with the ominous red X:

The "suspicious behavior" seems to be deleting the old PDF manual. Under the circumstances, I reluctantly immunized the installer's process to get 16.2 installed. But Bob still might want to see if there is something he can do about it.

A "reputation" warning should self clear after more users use the file.
Can you adjust the reputation threshold settings in Norton? I don't think Bob can do anything about this himself.
How about submitting it to Norton as a false positive for a well known program. Not sure if the home version of Norton has the ability to report things like this. The Symantec AV Enterprise editions had reporting capabilities built in which made it easy.
Reputation based warnings can be a pain in the rear as any new file can trigger the warning.

I will be putting out a new release in the next few days to fix one bug that came up. The SDS200 FTP Scanner Read & FTP Scanner Write functions may show an error when trying to log in. This broke in ver. 16.2 when I added code to compare the read account & write account User Names to show a message if they are identical.
If anyone has any issues or bugs, this is the time to email them to me so I can get it in the next release.

Is there a way to serve the Web Server with tags/display from another machine? I have an install where the ProScan Server instance while serving the web server and clients are connected, the CPU usage hovers around 40-50%. Typically, without the web server Proscan runs at around 13%, even with RSOIP connected. This is served up to some Android devices and one windows machine that I can't install programs on (Work). I was thinking that I may be able to relay the web server through a beefier Linux box.

It needs to run on a beefier Windows Box.
I run 16 copies on 1 windows PC with Webserver and Scanner Radio Over IP and run around 40% to 50%

Is that even possible? ProScan is the Web Server serving a web page so I don't know how a web page can be served on another machine.
I'm sure the CPU utilization is due to the Folders & Files Served. A lot of processing in that area. Try serving just a subdirectory or at least a lesser amount of recordings to see if the CPU utilization decreases.
I am running a 8th generation I7 with 32 gig ram and this PC is just a PROSCAN PC only.

You know what - that's exactly what it was. As soon as I cleared the Serve Folder Location, usage dropped back to 13%
Please check the History Logging when using option for UID Column. It seems that when the option "Display UID From Lookup File - if UID Not in Lookup File Then Display from Scanner always displays from the scanner even if there is an entry in UID lookup file.
Can you email me so I can send you a file to see if it's fixed.

- Fixed - UID Lookup file wasn't working right. Broke in version 16.1.
- Fixed - When the virtual scanner knobs are selected, and ProScan loses focus and then regains focus, the knobs are no longer selected.

I just downloaded the 16.1 version a couple of days ago(Trail version), If I try and download this newer version will my trail activation still be good for the remainder of days i have or will it come up as trail has ended?
You may safely update versions without affecting the length of the 30 day trial.
The UID logging issue , is confirmed fixed for me with this Version 16.3 release! Thank you.
