So I am having the same audio issue after installing the software on my laptop. Here are some screen grabs and the messages I am receiving when trying to adjust the source of the audio input for the recorder.

Not sure what the issue is.
Click the Windows Mixer button then check that the input is enabled and plugged in.

I suggest trying the fully functional 30 day demo/trial. Your questions may be answered.
For suggestions: Bug Reporting and Suggestions
Hi All,
I don't own ProScan at the moment but I'm planning a small project to install a touchscreen / tablet into my car connected to a laptop running Proscan which will be connected to my UBC3600XLT (same as a 436HP) hidden away in the centre console.
My old eyes are struggling a little these days so the point of this is to have a larger display in the car and be able to operate the radio from the screen also (I'll only need the Hold buttons probably)
Is it possible to get the virtual display in fullscreen?
All of the screenshots I've seen seem to have a settings window under the virtual display...

Thanks...
So I've been playing with this for a couple of weeks with the setup I explained above and the trial version of Proscan (Android tablet RDP'ing into an HP Mini Netbook which the scanner is connected to)
It works fine, but is a bit of a faff with the laptop not signing in automatically after sleep / hibernation despite me having it setup to do this. The Connectify app on the laptop does not always automatically start the hot spot on power up despite me having it setup to do this.

Apart from that it is not a bad solution for the car.
(I'll post some pics of the setup later if anyone else is interested in trying it)

To get around some of the issues above I've just obtained a Windows 10 tablet instead and have been testing with that too.
The major issue seems to be that I cannot Maximise the virtual display / "scanner only" window (the button is greyed out) and I cannot seem to do it by dragging the corner of the window either, so the display is a little small on an 8 inch screen.

Does anyone know if this is a limitation with the trial version and it will work ok if I buy the software?
If not, is it something that can be implemented in a future version?

Thanks...

It's possible but I'm not going to promise it. Suggestions are given a higher priority when they come in via email.

{edit} Can you use the Windows magnifying function?

Thank you for the reply.

I will email support@proscan.org with my suggestion later.

I tried the Windows Magnifier yesterday but it appears to leave me with ugly white borders around the screen which I can't seem to turn off. This might be something to do with the fact I'm using a touchscreen and don't have a mouse / keyboard plugged in I suppose, but I'm still testing it...

I have been using my SDS200 and Proscan for a couple of years. I am providing a feed to Broadcastify so there was really no reason to adjust my favorites list. However I recently noted an apparent loss of pieces of conversations on the P25 system... like they were transmitting on frequencies that were not on my list. After doing my research I saw they had indeed added 5 new frequencies so I needed to rebuild my favorites list. I did this successfully in Sentinel. Then, I opened up the Proscan Favorites Editor to update things and it couldn't even find a file. So I started a new file, but now I cannot get the SDS200 favorites list into the editor. I tried adding a USB feed (twice with different cables/computer ports) and trying all the "Scanner Read" options. I am now at a loss on how to get the list into Proscan. The scanner and the feed to Broadcastify is working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

A quick search on RR, and a CTRL+F on the Manual didn't give me anything..
Are there keyboard shortcuts that one can use when editing a database or favorites list? I find myself typing a Channel Name, hitting Tab and entering the rest of the info - but then reaching for the mouse and clicking to add another Channel (or System/Site etc).

I was thinking if I'm on the last line, and I continue to hit Tab - it would wrap and create a new Channel, but no joy.
I must be doing something wrong, right?

If you can't find the file then does it show in the MRU (Most Recently Used) list in the File menu next to the last item. What happens when you did a "Scanner Read"? Does the scanner show in the pop up window? Is the scanner in Mass Storage mode?

I don't want it to create a new channel in this case. A new channel may be created inadvertently.

Ctrl -C (copy) and Ctrl-V (paste) is suppose to work but I see it's not working properly. I'll fix that before the next release.
What other shortcuts are you looking for?

First off, when I rebuilt my Favorites list with Sentinel, I just put the SD card in the computer.
With the scanner running and with usb and ethernet connected, I tried a scanner read. There was nothing listed in the box so, I tried the refresh and the scanner went into Mass Storage Mode, but still nothing in the scanner read box. With all the other comments about USB issues, I tried this 3 different time with different USB cables. No luck. Watching carefully, Windows said it was connected to the SDS200. So I went to sentinel and no scanner there as well.

I think that I am spending too much time for something that if needed (very seldom), I can do directly on the scanner.

Thanks for your help, Bob. Take care of those that have real operational needs.

I've been working in the Database on my BCT15X (not my SDS100 Favorites Editor).
When adding channels - especially if manually typing them - maybe a CTRL+Enter, to do a new line/new channel; or a CTRL+N, for a new Channel (I know this is a New Database Shortcut, but maybe it can be dynamic depending on the active selection?)
Or even CTRL+SHIFT+N to add new Channels and prompt for how many you'd like to add, so if you're doing a copy paste of say 30 channels, you can create the blank lines - then paste in the values?

My guess is the USB cable you are using is a power only type of cable. Does the File Explorer show the scanner? You can also use the FTP Read function.

ProScan 18.3.1 with a BCT15X - I found an audio playback bug.

I'm recording using a USB soundcard, no problem. (I'm also using the serial port to log hits). I stop recording in ProScan (Recorder tab, Recorder button) and then yank the USB soundcard from my laptop, because I want playback thru the laptop speaker.

Then, one of my recordings (can't tell which one) immediately plays endlessly over and over. The Pause and Stop buttons have no effect, and in fact I didn't even hit the Play button to play anything back. So, no controls can stop this playback. I have to stop ProScan to get this playback loop to stop.

Unfortunately I can't reliably reproduce it, but it happened twice today. Not a super critical bug but just wanted to report it.

It sounds like it's happening at the API level. I'll leave it as is. The same audio model has been used for 15+ years.

So you think winmm.dll is misbehaving and looping, then?
Sounds like a loaded question! winmm.dll contains many APIs.

I don't exactly know what the problem is. I do know that when bug reports come in via email initially, I send out test files about 90% of the time to get a better ideal of what's going on. Same with suggestions, I give them greater priority when they come in initially via email.

Instead of yanking the USB soundcard from the laptop to get playback thru the laptop speaker, just use the ProScan Loopback function located in the Audio Control - Monitor & Test tab.

Hey all, hoping someone can help me figure this out. I'm using ProScan with my BCD536HP. Washington State Patrol (District 2 Bellevue Dispacth) every so often creates a new entry in my transmission log, and I can't figure out why. The frequency, etc., all appears to be the same so not sure why ProScan keeps making new entries. Not sure if ProScan is getting confused or if the scanner is sending something different every so often that isn't reflected in the table.

Pic attached.

Thanks!

-Lou
