Is there a way to turn off updates to Proscan, and just manually access the most recent update on a periodic basis, at my own convenience, so that it is convenient to do so on my own timetable?
Uncheck the option "Check For Newest Version Upon Start Up And Once A Day" located in the Options - Startup tab.

My issue is that I'm often out of town when the almost weekly updates are received. When updates are received, I receive a message displayed on Proscan telling me to update my Proscan program in order to proceed. During this period when updates are received, my scanners are not usable via remote monitoring via Proscan until I download the updates, and go through the entire process to setup the scanners again after the update is downloaded. It can become frustrating when I'm of town, the updates come in, and my scanner feeds shut down until the updates are incorporated into Proscan. I'm hoping there is a way to delay the necessity for incorporating updates for times when it's mre convenient for me, so my scanner remote feeds don't shut down at times when I'm not available to incorporate the updates.
When the Newest Version popup appears, it doesn't shut down the audio, or the feed, or automatically install the update. I'm not sure what you mean by scanner shuts down but if that means the serial port stops working or the Ethernet (on Ethernet supported scanners) then I suspect the computer is rebooting due to a Win Update.

Thanks for your advice! Actually, it hasn't been all bad, there is always a silver lining. As I've had to load the Proscan updates once a week for months on end, because of the way my options are setup in Proscan. But, through that, I've gained significant experience with that aspect of Proscan that I can do it in my sleep, but not when I'm out of town, LOL!

The computer seems to abruptly reboot too often. I probably have the computer set up to reboot automatically on a too frequent basis as well. I would like to correct that, but not sure how to do that. I would like to delay these reboots on the Windows 10 computer, so that the reboots are less frequent, as that does affect Proscan, making it necessary to re-setup Proscan too frequently, and these Windows reboots when I'm out of town cause the same issues in the same way I have Proscan currently setup.

I have the computer setup to do automatic updates because these computers get pretty glitchy if we don't reboot them relatively often. Mine seems to reboot every couple of weeks on it's own, but I don't notice any messages indicating it was due to a Windows update. With updates to Windows, it usually requires the user to initiate the installation of the update, and doesn;'t just automatically shut down and reboot. But, that is what my computer does, and I would like to be the one to initiate the reboot to install Windows updates.

Your advice should resolve the issue with the Proscan program, then I check the updates as I'm available to take care of it. I guess I must have setup the option for updates to do it too regularly, which caused my issue. But I anticipated that updates to Proscan wouldn't be coming as frequently as they do. That's not a criticism at all, with most programs, updates are few and far between to the extent that other programs improve infrequently. I just never really anticipated that updates would come that frequently with Proscan. It's not typical if most of the software I've been exposed to, so I really do appreciate your diligence at making sure the Proscan program can always be the best it can be through the updates!

Install ProScan in the same folder so the same options apply and nothing extra needs to be done.

Also if the computer reboots then the scanner should be power cycled after the computer finishes booting up. That applies to the BCD996P2 model and later models using the Uniden serial driver and the BCD536HP/SDS200 using the Ethernet connection.

Bob, Maybe you are already aware of this. But it is something I noticed today.

It involves the 'History Logging', and 'Upload To Scanner'.

In the 'History Logging', there is 'System/Site'. But when 'Upload To Scanner' is clicked, 'System/Site' is separated.

Well, Would you care to explain the differentiation?
If you're referring to the statistics in the upload window, the number of sites are with the number of groups.
Logging is different. On the DMA scanners, the scanner outputs the site names and not the system names.

I just came home and the new update was on my screen so I opened it and went through the usual procedures and when I to run setup this came up - The following applications are using files that need to be updated by setup. It is recommended that you allow Setup to automatically close these applications. After this has completed, Setup will attempt to restart the applications.installation and it lists (Proscan as the application).

Then I get a popup That reads Setup was unable to close all application. It is recommended that you close all applications using files that need to be updated by Setup before continuing.

Choices are
1 Try again which I did and that didn't work
2 Ignore the error and continue and that didn't work
3 Cancel installation and that worked.

I closed all files and rebooted the computer and it will not allow me to open the file to update same message every time.

I'm not familiar with that error. I suppose it could be because ProScan can't close due to a prompt asking to save a database file that was edited and not saved. Can you check for any instances of ProScan running and see if you can close them. If you're able to post a screenshot, that will be helpful.

I I can't even open PS now but I did try to ignore the error and continue and I got this error occurred while trying to replace the existing file: Delete File Failed : CODE 5 access denied.

I can't seem to take a screen shot when I am on the PS software popups any idea why that might be.?

Are you able to run ProScan? if not then any error message or anything?
Where there any changes to your system?
Can you try reinstalling ProScan and see what happens.

That image is to small and I can't read it.
