Are you able to run ProScan? if not then any error message or anything?
Where there any changes to your system?
Can you try reinstalling ProScan and see what happens.

That image is to small and I can't read it.
I sent you two screenshots that you should be able to enlarge. Bedtime so I will look into this some more tomorrow.

Can you uninstall ProScan, reboot, then try again?
I would also download the latest from his website just in case a bit or two had been lost in the other download.
I did uninstall and reinstalled a new copy but it isn't uninstalling all the previous updates. I was able to get it to open the Favorites Editor and that's all.

The Recorder screen never opens and allows me to access the settings Like Comm Port Setup. I did do a lot of work getting the scanner setup the night before and never rebooted after I got it running until last night after coming home and found the Update Button on my screen.

Create a new local user account on the computer and see if it will install under that account.

If you don't know how to do that, just do a web search for "create local user account windows [whatever version you have]" and follow instructions. Don't have to tie it to a Microsoft account, just a local user account.

I created a new user account and opened PS and logged in with the key and it still does the same thing. Is there a way I can uninstall all of the previous PS files and then update and start fresh? I have gone to settings and tried to uninstall but it is not cleaning out the previous files only the latest update? I still have the database on my scanner and Sentinel so I can always upload it all from the scanner again after?

Are you installing ProScan in the same folder as before? You should if running just 1 instance. That way the config will stay the same and you don't have to change anything. It sounds like ProScan did install if the Favorites Editor is showing. Why don't you start fresh by using the Win Explorer to delete all the ProScan folders. After that, install ProScan. I don't think you need a new user account. Just use the one you have been using.

{edit} if the Favorites Editor is showing then close that window and you should see the main window.

Ok I will try that and only the favorites editor opens up and the main screen is nowhere to be found. and by Win Explorer do you mean Settings and then APPS Uninstall or in the File explorer and if that is the case I can't seem to delete the previous copies from there also after uninstalling from the Settings and Apps area I get this message. I meant File Explorer. Navigate to each ProScan folder then delete the folder. If you don't see the main screen then perhaps it is minimized to the Task Bar or Notification Are.

Ok I was able to delete all PS files in the explorer and checked for uninstall again. Reinstalled and logged in with the Key and still the favorites editor screen comes up. buts right after that I can see the virtual screen flash off to the left side of the screen for a fraction of a second off to the upper left side of the screen past the Favorites screen. There is not an icon in the taskbar or anything under either of my two screens.

Is there some simplified guide somewhere that details how to set up some kind of web server using ProScan or similar that will allow me to connect, from a browser, and control and/or listen to the scanner remotely? I have the ability to connect to my scanner using ProScan, but my main use case is I have Linux machines and I'd like to be able to connect to some kind of web server I run, from a remote Linux machine, using a browser, and see/hear my scanner. Bonus points if I can also present a restricted feed to others, who can listen but NOT control it.

It sounds like the main window is off screen. Can you email me the ProScan.cfg file located in the application folder so I can see if that can be prevented in the future. The ProScan.cfg file may be in the VirtualStore folder located at C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ProScan If ProScan is installed in the "\Program Files" or "\Program Files (x86)" folder AND running 64 bit OS AND not running ProScan in admin mode

See this link written by RadioReference member, Mike (NYRHKY94). It's written for the BCD536HP. If you don't have that model, then ignore that part. The Web Server part still applies.

Give out the "Serve Scanner Monitor Mode" password to anyone for listening only and no control.

I got it. ProScan is minimized to the Notification Area. To get it back to normal, click the up arrow (circled in image) then click the ProScan icon (circled in image). To prevent it from happening in the future, go to the Options - Startup tab then the last option "Minimize On Start" select Off then click the OK button.

You did it!
One more question if you will please? I used to have a file folder for Proscan in the file folder listed with all the major files such as downloads, Documents and others as soon as I open it? It is no longer there so how would I send a new file folder to that area with Proscan program there?

If it was deleted, then go to the folder it was in then right click, then click on "Undo Delete" If that doesn't work then create a new folder.
