I was trying to avoid that, but. That will be last resort.

If you are asking in the sense of a bad USB connector, or cable, then no. Because, When I connect the USB cable to the USB port on my 436HP. My PC gives the audio tone of, when a USB connection is made with a USB Device.

It should show in Device Manager under ComPorts.

For the life of me, I never figured out what the true problem was. Even after recycling the scanner several times, disconnecting and re-connecting the USB cable multiple times, and starting n' re-starting Proscan several times. But now, it has decided to get back to work.

After the last Windows 11 update, I can no longer write my recorded audio files to any folder.
I pointed the "Recordings Location" to a local folder and to one on my network (NAS), but that doesn't work.
I also tried creating a new folder using the "Recordings Location" tab, but that didn't work either.

It used to write to my Network folder with no issues.
How do I gain access to folders again?

Oops, never mind.
The record button got turned off somehow.

On Proscan meta tags I was wondering if there is a way to show site name only and not also the system name. If you put the "%S" in Custom Format Box, your meta tags show both of them.

I hate to bring up an old subject, but I'm still having problems making changes in ProScan, downloading it to my SDS200, and having all my favorites, systems, departments, and channels scan the way they did before the changes. These are the steps I took to do the change.
1 - read in the existing file from the scanner
2 - save the file
3 - make the changes
4 - download to the scanner
5 - check that the favorites, etc can the way they did previously.

I obviously missed something because I had to into the scanner and set all of my favorites, etc. back the way they were.

Any ideas?

Are you referring to systems not being monitored when you turn on the scanner?

Not the same systems, not the same favorites that were being monitored before I made the change.

Is "Monitor" checked for the systems you want enabled on boot?

The monitor was it. All of them were checked, so when I sent the file back to the scanner, it would enable all of the favorites. If I have the favorite turned off, why is the monitor still checked? Shouldn't it be unchecked? Just wondering.

If you mean when reading from the scanner, I'm not sure why it would be checked. Maybe @ProScan can advise.

Correct. I do mean when I read from the scanner. The favorite was "turned off" on the scanner, but when I read in the file from the scanner, the Monitor was still checked. At least I found the solution to the problem. Thanks for sending me down the right path.

Even though you disabled in the scanner, how was it set in Sentinel? Were all favorites set to monitor?

The "Monitor" selection only indicates, to Sentinel (as well as ProScan) that you want to have the list enabled to be received.

I presume, on the scanner, you had gone into the Scanner's menu "Set Scan Selection", then on the menu to set 'which lists should be monitored' set that system as "Off".

However, the notation on which lists are to be downloaded, as well as which of them should be monitored by default, is in your Profile. I suspect that when you 'read' the scanner back into the software, your Profile was not updated to show that system as 'off'. ProScan does not have it's own profile editor; it takes it's cues for download & monitor settings from how Sentinel is set.. If you are reading the scanner back into ProScan, with that system "Off", it might not be updating the defaults on your Sentinel Profile. But if, instead, you 'read' the scanner back into Sentinel, it will recognize that the list is set to download, but not be monitored by default. Bob (ProScan's author) should be able to clarify how to make sure that monitor selection (when reading into ProScan, not Sentinel) is noted & saved.

You are talking about the Select List to Monitor submenu in the Set Scan Selection menu. Correct?
I did a test just now with 2 FL. One was turned off and the other on in the scanner Select List to Monitor submenu. The Monitor option in ProScan shows the same after I did a read from scanner.

{edit} Just to clarify, you're not talking about the FL QKs turned off. Are you?

Shouldn't be an issue. ProScan reads the scanner profile.cfg file when ProScan reads the FL and updates the scanner profile.cfg file when writing the FL to the scanner. The profile.cfg file updates with the the items circled in red in this image along the the Monitor option in each Favorites Options.

I will have to check how the boxes are checked.
I was talking about the Monitor under Favorite Options, not the QK.
