ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Is there a menu option that will toggle Dark Mode on or off on the fly without the need to restart ProScan?
This is using the test 23.0.1 version of ProScan.. I know 23.0 had a Test Dark Mode menu item but that is gone in 23.0.1.

It would be handy to have a Dark Mode toggle maybe under the View menu so one does not need to restart ProScan each time they want to try Dark Mode.
As it is now, one must select to start ProScan in Dark or standard mode from the Options/Startup menus and then restart ProScan to make the change.
The test menu item was in there by mistake. The only way is the startup options. It would be nice for the dark mode could be changed on the fly but it needs a restart.

HI BOB:

The Microphone was the answer.
Is there a way to shut off the Microphone on the laptop and still have it record? I have tape over it, but the system still reacts to it.

I don't follow this question. The scanner should be connected to an input (by cable) on the computer (laptop, desktop, whatever) to get the audio into ProScan.

No, there's no way to disable a microphone in Windows and still have it record.
What model scanner are you using? In Proscan you'll need to choose the correct input here if not your microphone port (my screenshot depicts wifi/URL recording as with a 536HP)

Yes, Google Dell I7 Laptop disable internal mic. Are you plugging the audio cable into the audio jack?

HI BOB:

I never stated radio type, it is a BCD536HP. Sound is via the WI-FI.
Is there a way to shut off the internal micro phone but still record?
I know I could go inside the laptop and unplug the microphone and camera. But?????

Bob many thanks for the help. I am no expert on this type of system. I was a "Communication Security Specialist" in the United States Army security Agency. That was many years ago. We did not use computers then. This is a whole new area for me. But I love it!!!!!!! Old Dogs can learn a few new tricks.

Do you have the Audio Control - Recorder tab input device set to URL? You should if using the scanner Wi-Fi. Click the URL Setup button then auto detect the scanner IP.

And if it is set to URL, you should't get this message "UNABLE TO OPEN INPUT SOUND DEVICE, THE DEVICE IS NOT ENABLED OR IS NOT PLUGGED IN".

Is there a way to shut off the internal micro phone but still record?

If the input device is set to URL, the internal mic shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks to all who helped, Bob, WHISKY3JMC!
It is working and no problems from the microphone. The audio sounds good! I am happy.
This old dog did learn a new trick (now if I can keep from drooling all over the radios, that will be good).

While attempting to edit UID's, all of the typed text disappears anytime there's activity while typing. The only way to avoid having this happen is to press buttons on the scanner so it won't receive any traffic while editing. This issue was also present in past versions and was mentioned a while ago in a post, but not in an email. Also, the active row needs to have an option to disable it, or simply not enable it (like before). It is frustrating when it keeps jumping to the active row while trying to navigate through the log to review, or edit something.

What version?

I received that suggestion via email and already implemented it. Look for it in the next release.

The issue with the typed text disappearing during editing when new traffic is received has happened with every version I've had since the 30 day trial of whichever version was current in November of last year. I think it was 22.0 since it was when support for the 160 was added.

Also, the newest release will not allow UID logging when connected with only a USB cable. I had to go back to 22.12 for the USB connected scanners.

Try the next version 23.0.1 That I may release later today. If it still doesn't work then send me a Bug Report. Link is on the proscan.org web site.
