Anyone know who uses an 82.5 hz tone on 33.880. First time I've ever noted this one. Brief signals.

I did a search in the database and nothing came up for that PL tone on 33.88. In CT, two frequencies have a 179.9 PL (QV dispatch in the eastern part of the state) and one with a 127.3 PL (Bethlehem). I know TN Dispatch in CT has an active license for the frequency, not sure if they are still using it. MD, NH, OH & PA all have one hit for the frequency and WV has 2 hits, all are carrier squelch. If you hear it again, see if you can hear a department name or call sign. It could be something that is not listed in the database due to the licensee being expired and the department is still using it.

Apologies, senior moment on my behalf - It's Licking County, OH ( as previously discussed on here)

31.6500 AM - Religious programming. Station identified as WWCR Nashville, TN.

This frequency is NOT listed in the FCC's ULS.

My location is along the Mid-Atlantic coast.

Two on-air personalities were just discussing this issue. They were getting reports from the Philadelphia area about being heard on 31 MHz. They went on to discuss sunspots and other aspects of DX reception.
It would be interesting to know if the harmonic received is originating from WWCR itself, occurring in the receivers, or being reradiated from some transmitter or structure elsewhere. More than likely it is coming from the WWCR transmitter at some low level, but it could be something else.

Having been in that facility, I can tell you it's quite complex. They have four big Continental transmitters, all feed rhombic antenna systems. Also on the same property is a 5 tower conventional AM array for their 1300 AM. However, very little has changed, as it is in a rural area outside of Nashville. I know those Continentals are work horses but I suspect that they've been having an issue with one of them.

That 33.5600 CSQ will be Lancaster County, PA. There is an urgent care center in Lancaster called "LG Urgent Care Duke Street".

33.8800 127.3 will be Bethlehem, CT in Litchfield County.

I've logged numerous Asian language - Unidentified language transmissions on frequencies that fit the 25 kHz channel step, recent logs (November 2022 and this month) include:

29.9000 CSQ - Unknown language - QRM from European POSCAG pager signals
30.0000 CSQ - Unknown language
30.0250 CSQ - Unknown language - QRM from POCSAG pager signals on 30.020 MHz
30.1000 CSQ - Unknown language
30.6500 CSQ - Unknown language
30.7500 CSQ - Unknown language
30.7750 CSQ - Unknown language
30.9000 CSQ - Unknown language
31.1000 CSQ - Unknown language
31.3250 CSQ - Unknown language
31.4250 CSQ - Unknown language
31.7000 CSQ - Unknown language
31.7750 CSQ - Unknown language - also with POCSAG QRM (31.725 MHz, 31.750 MHz and 31.775 MHz are UK hospital paging freqs)
31.8000 CSQ - Unknown language
31.9000 CSQ - Unknown language

30.775 MHz and 30.900 MHz have popped up numerous times.

The languages sounded like Mandarin Chinese or maybe Vietnamese. None of them had any CTCSS (PL) or DCS (DPL) tone/codes transmitted with them.

I know there is a little-known marine radio service out of China (PRC, not Taiwan) that uses FM voice and operates in the 27.500 MHz to 39.475 MHz range (25 kHz channel steps, straight channelization, no CTCSS/DCS, regular 4 kHz/5 kHz FM deviation).

480 channels. 25 watt RF power output (at least for the radios I've found in my research - including the FT-801 Fisheries Radio Transceiver).

27.500 MHz is channel 1, 27.525 MHz is channel 2, up to 39.450 is channel 479 and 39.475 is channel 480. The radios are advertised as "27.5 MHz - 39.5 MHz" as are the antennas.

I have a feeling many of these UNID language logs could be fishing fleets using equipment for that service. The frequencies match up, as do folks hearing similar traffic +5 kHz or -5 kHz from the channelized frequencies (i.e. 30.7800 MHz instead of 30.7750 MHz, etc.).

It wouldn't surprise me if this equipment has proliferated itself to places like South America and found its way into South American fishing fleets or at the very least Asian fishing fleets operating closer to South America (especially when the band is open to that area).

The 29.750 MHz, 29.800 MHz, 29.850 MHz, 29.900 MHz, 29.950 MHz frequencies are used somewhere in Europe (and possibly also Latin America) for paging. Same with 30.000 MHz and 30.025 MHz. I know 30.020 MHz is used for paging in Canada as well, which might explain the multiple POCSAG signals at once loggings I've had lately. 31.725 MHz, 31.750 MHz and 31.775 MHz are UK medical paging frequencies (POCSAG).

I learned recently that strong carriers in the neigborhood of 27.120MHz are used for diathermy, a medical procedure. Not sure If I have a local clinic that does it or I was DXing it but I have seen it multiple times now.

It is also used for heating lumber to remove moisture, welding vinyl plastic.

Typically, diathermy radiation is only 250 - 1,000 feet due to better medical equipment and shielded rooms. But what @RFI-EMI-GUY mentions about plastic is a good possibility. We have a plant within a mile of us which uses this and what they call sonic welding, to seal boxes with electronics in them. It shows up on our spectrum analyzer in the shop if we're doing an OTA measurement.
