Interesting. The CHP stuff is all SoCal base stations (generally high-altitude sites; mobiles are most always on a separate freq), from Ventura south to Mexico and east to the deserts bordering AZ/NV. The exception is 42.12 @ 118.8, the southernmost site of which is on KMH995 at Silver Peak in Bishop. Is your dipole horizontal and how high above the ground?

Anyone else having any luck? My scanner has been quiet here in N. Carolina recently. I started monitoring the VHF lowband 12 years ago and never experienced a quiet time like this year. I usually have hours upon hours of recordings before the month of June yet I have 0 recordings so far in 2022.

Is transmitting from Orange County NY. However, it's one of the local radio shops that is doing it, Orange County officially stopped using low band when they migrated over to their P25 Phase II system.
