Weird music I get on 43.54 Mhz
If it were a different freq, I would think an old cordless phone, and music on hold. It is a hook from a popular R&B song, from about 20 years ago, that was probably looped.Weird music I get on 43.54 mhz
If not foreign it could be hard to find licenses because they are auctioned market area paging channels.I don't see any licenses in the FCC database for 43.54 or 43.56. Must be foreign.
Thank you very much to you and your co-workers for looking into this. I've attached another clip, next post. I took your suggestion and rode around the neighborhood and got nothing. I have dozens of clips and never any voice. Thanks marvin N5RKWSeveral of us were listening to this at the office. The consensus was it was from "music on hold" from a phone system. I've heard a lot of systems, and we have a hosted system at work, but this one is not identifiable. But I don't think it's emanating from the phone system, but from possibly an older style cordless phone or phone repeater.
The other thought, sometimes the wireless headsets at fast food will play a loop, which is intended to let the order-taker know that the outdoor kiosk is still communicating with the headset. The specific one I encountered was in Michigan and was made by a Chinese company.
Have you tried driving around with an antenna on the outside of the car and seeing what is perhaps in the first mile or two? I've had old wireless base stations pop up around here.
Interesting. I wonder what sort of intermod might be responsible. Here's another music clip from 43.54
