Several of us were listening to this at the office. The consensus was it was from "music on hold" from a phone system. I've heard a lot of systems, and we have a hosted system at work, but this one is not identifiable. But I don't think it's emanating from the phone system, but from possibly an older style cordless phone or phone repeater.

The other thought, sometimes the wireless headsets at fast food will play a loop, which is intended to let the order-taker know that the outdoor kiosk is still communicating with the headset. The specific one I encountered was in Michigan and was made by a Chinese company.

Have you tried driving around with an antenna on the outside of the car and seeing what is perhaps in the first mile or two? I've had old wireless base stations pop up around here.

Thank you very much to you and your co-workers for looking into this. I've attached another clip, next post. I took your suggestion and rode around the neighborhood and got nothing. I have dozens of clips and never any voice. Thanks marvin N5RKW

We should move the discussion of the music to it's own thread, and keep this on the topic of the logs.

There was no skip for me on 7/8 so I made this recording. The first two dispatches are from 7/6 and the rest are 7/7. I tried to keep the editing down to a minimum as there was over 8 hrs of recording. I never really do this, but I included some dispatches that you cannot copy what they are saying. Some of 'em need to invest in noise cancelling microphones.

Many call signs and different tones on the recording. There are also some radio tests. Repeat dispatches are usually on another frequency. IMO the RS Pro-2055 is not in the same league with the old Pro-51 when it comes to skip, but the 2055 does have an advantage over the 51, I can lockout 33.780 - 114.8, and my ears really appreciate that.
