You wouldn't happen to have a recording of it? I heard something on 29.780000 a few days ago, (broke squelch on 29.770000), but it didn't sound like data. Too consistent.

I just heard some mil guys on 38.900. One was telling another he had an open mic on what sounded like he referred to the channel as "America West". Maybe they were referring to satcom or something.

A quick note, those PL tones are likely false. The PL detector heard music octaves close enough to the frequency to "detect" it as the PL tone.

I'm assuming the logging was FM? An broadcast station, or shortwave station would have made sense. But that would be AM and not FM

For it to be an FM station or an STL would have to be an odd mix, although perhaps not out of the question. Decades ago there was an odd mix on the low bands in NW Ohio which was caused by a Canadian AM broadcast station, and what they call a TSL, or transmitter to studio link on the 160 MHz band. Somehow the mix, and emission in the 40 MHz portion was due to something interacting between the AM signal and the 160 MHz FM signal. Heard in Fulton County OH.
