30.4500 - Distorted audio with strong southern accent. The BCD996P2 decoded this as "151.4", however I suspect it was the 150.0 heard before the scanner simply had a false indication.

Some awesome openings lately.

This afternoon (around 1845 UTC - 1900+ UTC) I listened to a very long QSO on 27.195 MHz LSB. I’ve noticed lots of SSB activity on the RCRS frequencies in certain parts of the world. The language was Portuguese.

Mixing with the Portuguese chatter was a Mexican taxi cab dispatcher on 27.195 MHz AM.

Finally, with very dramatic fading, the MFSK data signal (nearly nonstop) that indicates an opening to Latin America was on frequency as well.

Thanks for posting these. I've wondered about the 30-50mhz stretch as I usually see nothing on it at my fairly rural location. Clearly I'll need to pay attention to it when skip is up. So far the only mildly interesting thing I've found in there is some local persons baby monitor. Took me a while to figure out what it is as 80% of the time it was a quiet carrier. Then one day It had TV show audio on it and I clued in to what it was.

Judging by the 24/7 nature of it I'm pretty sure it's not top of mind. But for those exact reasons I put a "Yikes" beside the frequency marker. That thing is a huge privacy leak.

I contemplated listening for a longer time to figure outwho it is so I could tell them they are broadcasting all over the neighbourhood. But I doubt that would end well. So Generally I leave it be.

Checked the 30-50hz range and yep all sorts of new traffic. So now I have a bunch of digital modes I'm going to have to track down. S'ok though. I love finding new stuff. One strong NFM voice sigal but all they said was "The special today is wings with sauce. Do you want the special" So no clue what it is but it's marked now so I'll be sure to check back
