Thanks for posting these. I've wondered about the 30-50mhz stretch as I usually see nothing on it at my fairly rural location. Clearly I'll need to pay attention to it when skip is up. So far the only mildly interesting thing I've found in there is some local persons baby monitor. Took me a while to figure out what it is as 80% of the time it was a quiet carrier. Then one day It had TV show audio on it and I clued in to what it was.
You're welcome! 49 mhz cordless phones and baby monitors were all the rage 30 years ago.

Judging by the 24/7 nature of it I'm pretty sure it's not top of mind. But for those exact reasons I put a "Yikes" beside the frequency marker. That thing is a huge privacy leak.

About 30 years ago, I could manually step through all the cordless phone and baby monitor frequencies and find something on almost every channel especially in the evenings. A lot of it was mundane but a few things were interesting -- like some of the phone calls. The sheer number of 24/7 transmitters and cordless phones was impressive but also frightening, especially regarding personal privacy. I'm certain none of these people had any idea that everything happening inside their home was being transmitted over several city blocks to anyone with a scanner and an outside antenna.

Back in 1986, there was a baby monitor that could be heard throughout Pasadena, TX. Everyone knew when little Timmy went potty.

31.325 Odd pulses. MFSK?
31.480 Voice (talking about street locations but didn't sound taxi related)
31.975 Sampe type of pulses as 31.325

Image of those odd pulses attached. Will try to get a baseband recording next time

31.325 and 31.975 are French - they are signalling systems for turning on and off public utilities. I hear them via Sporadic E regularly. 31.6875 is another freq they use.

Here's something to look for US east coast mornings - there are Czech CB repeaters between 26.565 and 26.955 in 10 khz steps - they use input tones of mostly 88.5 but also 103.5. One from Mount Praded on 26.865 uses 77.0 tone. Wonder are they making it across the pond. I hear the ones in the eastern part of CZ at the moment.

Heard a number today.

Thanks for the feedback!

That might be it then because I saw those on at least on other Frequency. Although the thought of that makes me cringe. Utilities controlled by radio signaling. Unless it was a very security first design I could see a lot of ways that could go wrong. Do you happen to have any links to more info on those system/technology?

Update: Just found some youtube videos talking about the French Polytone Utility system. And yep that is exactly what I heard. Off to do more reading

I had a pdf from the company that supplies that system - but it's gone awol - a French Dxer gave me the info on this stuff - he also showed me videos of the system being hacked with handheld transmitters sending the polytones. In one scene a guy hit send and turned off all the public lights within a block or two. Another, if I remember right showed the turning off of a public fountain!
