1.21.00 Release Notes (05/25/2018)

  • Supports Unit ID detection on voice channels in P25 Phase 2 trunk system. This will improve UID capture on late entry.
  • Improved rest channel following on Cap+ trunk systems.
  • Fixed the freezing issue with large site hold and system rotation.
  • Fixed scan issue in system hold and unsaved TGID hold.
  • Fixed a condition where unavoided items using "Clear All Avoids" would be avoided on power cycling.

Upman I have a problem with LCN finder and CAP MAX :

I entered all the frequencies with channel number 0 et SRCH for Color code. When I start LCN Finder, it finds the first LCN and after that its stop receiving signal. I have to save the LCN result and restart LCN finder to receive the signal. But after finding another LCN, no more signal received.

When I start Lcn finder the signal is full but no more signal after finder the first channel.
Only in CAP MAX I have this problem.

UPMAN do you need log files ?

thanks

Does this have to do with the 1.21.00 Firmware? If not please keep comments in this thread to the 1.21.00 firmware version.
Thanks!

this problem exists since the firmware 1.17 and is never corrected with each new firmware

I would record a debug log, run LCN Finder to trigger the problem, then zip and post the log. I haven't had any issues with LCN Finder, but I don't have any Capacity Max systems in my area to test, just Capacity+.

I just gave my 536 a test drive with the new firmware. Phase 2 P25 UID's are now being displayed correctly. TGID Hold issue in ID Search of CAP+ systems is resolved. I'm not sure how much more of the CPU load can be reduced with all these new features, but during transmissions on all my trunking systems key pad is still a little laggy. Not unusable by any means, and has made improvements since the issue has been reported, but if it's possible to tweak it a little further, would be good. Once scanner is in scan or search mode without active transmissions, key pad responds normally. But...great work UPMan and the Uniden Engineers (Almost sounds like a rock group).

Now if a question can be answered...are the NXDN Alias ID's being auto-saved? They are being decoded and displayed much faster than the previous version...thanks again! Maybe that's what I'm seeing? Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Found the current verison of Troymail's ScanPlayLog works good to display the TGID,Radio User Name and UID.

But note it seems to me. It might work for you.;

After running the program can it in the HTML page it creates in your browser and manually record them in a spread sheet like I do. Then you will have a list.

Just trying to provide solution the last question he asked.

UPMan,

First of all thank you for all the hard work you and your team has been doing. I have one request for an update if possible. I was wondering if you can make the 436/536 in search mode when it stops on a P25 800Mhz control channel it can follow and decode talkgroups like the 396 and 996 radios?

Since it's inevitable that somebody is going to eventually ask:

No, this firmware upgrade for the scanner is not going to add NXDN functionality to Centanil/Sentenial/Suntinall/Santinal/Centennial or however else you wish to misspell Sentinel.

Sintinil update is in the werx...so get your NXDN before the price goes up! I don't have the final date (still some testing to do, and it is difficult to predict what might be found in testing and how long bug fixes will take) but I really expect by the end of this month. This is not a promise...it is my expectation. If it takes a bit longer to get it right, then we'll take a bit longer.

1.21.00 Release Notes (05/25/2018)

  • Fixed the freezing issue with large site hold and system rotation.

Sort of. It no longer freezes. But it no longer works, either.

The expected behavior is that [System] + [dial] would indeed cycle through the systems notwithstanding Site Hold being on; wasn't that the behavior before? I also verified that Channel Hold and Department Hold both work as I expect: i.e., if Channel [or Department] Hold is on, [System] + [dial] does cycle through the enabled systems notwithstanding the respective Hold.

Now, however, if Site Hold is on, [System] + [dial] does nothing (technically, it beeps; but it doesn't rotate through systems). E.g., with SystemA and SystemB enabled for scanning (verified by having System, Site, Dept, and Channel holds all off), if Site Hold is on, [System] + [dial] is ignored.

Thanks!!

No. If you're holding on a site, you can't switch systems until you release the site hold. That's been SOP for a long time.

Are you absolutely sure that the other frequencies you have programmed in for the Cap Max system are indeed active frequencies on that site ? If you are just scanning frequencies that you got off of a license, it may be that none of the other frequencies are active at that site.

And if they are active, keep in mind that there has to be activity on them for the LCN finder to work. If it's a business system and you are scanning at 2 am in the morning on a weekend when there is no traffic, it will never end up finding the LCNs. There must be voice activity. You may have to let it run for a day or two (during the most busy hours) for it to find the LCNs.

It wouldn't make any sense to be able to switch systems while holding on a site. You can switch sites within a system, and that works better than it did previously. Interestingly, on my 436HP the words "Site Hold" appear at the very top of the screen on the same line as the time. I've never noticed that before, but might have just missed it.

I've installed the update in all three of my x36HP scanners with no problem. I haven't had enough time to do a lot of testing, but don't expect any issues.

Pretty soon, I fear that Uniden will fix all of the reported issues and then we'll have no Firmware Fridays too look forward to.

I have all the frequencies and DSD+ 2.98 Follow the system correctly. But DSD didn't give the real LCN.

The cap max system have lots of activity. the problems is when LCN finder found the first LCN its drop the signal, so It can't find the LCN for the others frequencies.

LCN finder work fine for Capacity plus, Con+ etc.

I sort of agree, but it also equally "wouldn't make sense" to switch Systems while you're holding on a Department or Channel, either, but those both work the way I expected Site Hold to work, even though the result is also weird (you somewhat arbitrarily wind up holding on the first Department or Channel in the new system).

FWIW, I don't have a problem with the fix (esp. if that's the way it always worked). I just wanted to make sure that it was really fixed.
