1.23.00 Release Notes (06/12/2018)

  • Modified LCN finder for DMR
  • Modified RAS detection for Capacity Plus
Note that LCN finder on DMR system using RAS will not be 100% reliable, since there is no error detection on RAS systems. You might need to run several times, noting the results each time, then selecting the LCN based on all results.

1. this update have fixes available in the OPEN BETA version for EDACS or this is different branch?
2. why no information about update here? can you fix this mess with crazy documentation/support documents hard to find and access or not up to date?

I will say that it's very confusing as to which version of Sentinel is the most current for the SDS100. If you search for the word "Sentinel" on info.uniden.com, there are links returned for both the 436 and SDS100. Not to mention they are the 5th and 7th results in the search respectively.

The summary for the 436 states the most recent version is 2.00.05.

The summary for the SDS100 states "Support Files for SDS100 Sentinel 2.00.01 http://info.uniden.com/twiki/pub/UnidenMan4/BCD536HP/BCDx36HP Sentinel Version 2 00 02.zip".

Make sure you use this link for all Sentinel downloads for the BCD436HP, BCD536HP AND the SDS100:

BCDx36HPSentinel < UnidenMan4 < TWiki

The wiki software driving info.uniden.com (TWiki) is antiquated and has a terrible search engine. The current experience is atrocious.

I don't blame people for asking the same questions as others ask.

It would be nice to see Upman push for a modern wiki that makes things easier on everyone.

TWiki must DIE!!!
its a nightmare for a long time, i reported this to support but they dont care

Anyone else having the issues where the 'Trunk Discovery' favourite list would still be monitored on the next power cycle even when I disabled monitoring for that list?

I had the same with Conventional Discovery but don't know if it actually scanned any frequencies or just showed that name on the display as if it where scanned.

I had to delete the whole Conventional Discovery system to get rid of it.

Has anyone noticed on CON+ systems the scanner will stop on a TG no audio and becomes stuck/hung? It will just sit on that TG flashing S2 and CON until I turn the knob to continue scanning.

I thought I saw this, but in a comparison to DSD+ on the same system and site, it turned out that one of the transmitters is dead. Or at least has very low output. Or maybe they changed frequencies, but I haven't been able to determine that.

So, I can't help you verify that, sorry.

Looks like it is happening on multiple con+ systems when there is audio on slot 2. When the audio is finished the scanner never moves on. I am going to go back some versions and see if it persists.

Attached.

I let it sit on the stuck system/tg for awhile then stopped the debug.

My Uniden BCD536HP Digital Scanner has been acting strange lately & not working properly after all of these latest released & applied firmware updates from Uniden that are suppose to fix bugs/issues & make features work & run better on the BCD*36HP line of scanners. When I run (Custom Search) in a specific frequency range of my choice, the BCD536HP will stop on or get stuck on a frequency that has no audio & only either displays, (Link) or shows a DMR or NXDN system with no full information & no audio on that channel/frequency. The scanner will stay stuck on the silenced frequencies until I lock them out with no audio or full trunking information displayed. I do not think that this is normal & needs to be addressed...

Anybody else experiencing this unusual behavior on the Uniden BCD536HP lately after the latest released & installed firmware updates from Uniden? Mine has the latest firmware update of 1.23.00 installed on it.

That has always been the behavior when the scanner hits a control channel that broadcasts continuously, it is nothing new. And that is exactly what is happening. The scanner won't know the system name or anything else beyond the frequency, system and site IDs, and a few other technicalities. Once you match the system ID and site ID to a known system, Avoid that frequency and carry on. If you're using ProScan, you can set a timeout timer that automatically Avoids a channel or frequency if it hangs the scanner for more than a set time period (I use 5 minutes).

Terrible that is for both me & my Uniden BCD536HP Scanner! It is truly making me want to consider & possibly purchase one of the new Whistler LSM Capable Scanners when they are released & on the market vs a new upgrade model of Uniden Scanner like the SDS100 which I was not at all considering buying anyway but bypassing on being that it is not a desktop mobile scanner.

Update on the hang while scanning slot 2. If it is stopped on the system/tg it does scan the priority conventional channels I have programmed. It will go to traffic on those and then return to the Con+ system and sit on it.

@jdolina

Are you seeing that when you are on the Con+ system, when you turn the knob that it wont scan the channel that you were last on even when you know that it's still transmitting?

Also i'm assuming that it tends to "skip" transmissions compared to DSD+?

@mebournefan

I have multiple systems and types programmed to scan what I am seeing is

While scanning (not searching) the scanner will stop on a Con+ system with voice traffic on Slot 2 it will display UID
After voice transmission ends the scanner will stay on that system/TG displaying the TGID no UID and flashing the CON S2 indicators on/off. It will stay like this.

If voice traffic is found on a conventional priority channel the scanner will switch to that channel I will hear the voice traffic and when it is over the scanner will go back to the previous CON+ system stopped on above.

If I turn the knob the scanner scans as normal.

This has happened on different Con+ systems and multiple TG's in those systems.
Oh and if I check the CC in DSD+ no voice traffic going on while the scanner is just waiting on the system.

I did try a previous firmware but all I had was pre-NXDN it did not hang on the CON+ S2.

When I'm doing search I always use negative delay -10 sec so that it will continue to search after stopping for 10 seconds on a transmission. If I want to listen longer live on the transmission I just hit "channel" to stop the search.

Ah, because I have mine on sys and site hold as well as searching, things seemed to fix itself in this firmware version but I will see if 1.24 fixes it. I might try the overlaid types as one of the railway stations uses LTR + Conventional Analog.

Please disable priority scan and try again.
