It's a known issue. It has to see another WiFi signal or it will just bail out from the menu. Infrastructure mode are remembered over a power off but has AP mode ever done that?

/Ubbe
When I got it to work last night "it did remember AP mode" when powered ON. Are you saying it needs to see any other WIFI signal? I am sure in my driveway it is seeing every WIFI in the neighborhood. The tablet is seeing them. I thought this was resolved in 2017 with the 7.28 FW. I guess I misread it.

Mototrbo upgrade on bcd536

This may be the wrong message board but our Grenada VFD county MS recently went to MOTOTRBO LCP and I have a BCD536 and when I went to program the new system it said I need a upgrade. Does this cost anything and where do I get it and how do I put it in the scanner. Any Help

You need the DMR upgrade for the scanner. Available on Uniden site for $60 if I'm not mistaken.

In the case of my 536, it will remember AP mode, but won't assign an IP address for the scanner & the phone/tablet won't see the scanner at all. I have to go in to the wifi menu on the scanner and start another session (within range of wifi).

possible wifi bug with this firmware

I use an old iPhone for a remote display in my truck with my 536. I have been having a lot of problems with connectivity lately. I can usually just hit the "connection" tab in settings on the siren app and accept the IP address again and it will start working again. Once in a while, I've had to turn the scanner off/on and restart the wifi session.

While the connectivity with siren hasn't ever been great, I could usually go a couple of weeks or more without having to reconnect. Lately it's been dropping out several times a day. Sometimes failing within a few minutes of resetting. I'll be rolling back to the previous firmware to verify, but I'm pretty sure this all started when I installed the beta 1.25.00 firmware.

Jeff.

BUG REPORT: I've set the Volume Offset to -2 on many talkgroups and conventional channels that seem "loud". Turning the volume knob to level 4 or below results in no audio at all. The same thing happens when setting Volume Offset to -1 and turning the volume knob to level 3. When the Volume Offset is 0 (zero), the audio can be heard with the volume knob down to level 1. A conventional weather radio channel can be programmed to test this. The automatic gain control is set off.

I'm not too sure if it's do-able, but I have a 436-PT (Australia) version. For whatever reason, there is an apparent lack of firmware updates for this version of scanner in our region.

I was able to download firmware 1.25.0 and load it onto the microSD card. From there, I changed the filename from 'BCD436HP_V1_25_00.bin' to 'UBCD436-PT_V1_25_00.bin. After disconnecting the scanner from the PC, the Scanner had recognized the firmware, but failed due to update due to a 'checksum' error. No surprises there, I guess.

Whilst a little sly on my behalf, is there a magical way to get around the checksum error and trial out this new firmware?

Can't be done.

So I asked this same question in November with no response.

So I'll try again.

When or shall I now say is this ever going to be a public release? What else has been done with this version?

Hoping to get an answer before 2019. :)

The reason why there are few firmware updates for the Australian version is because we don't need them.

What do you want the firmware to update, what needs updating or changing?

Can you please explain because I am at a loss to understand the need for an update when there is nothing to update?

Would love to see serial control implemented.
There's been complaints about trunking sensitivity.

Short of going through release histories, I'm sure that there have been changes made to the firmware since 2013 - which is the latest version the PT uses.

The 436HP/536HP are not flagship hardware now. I would not expect any more firmware releases unless Uniden puts out a new digital decode, IMO.

Just bought a BCD536HP on Amazon so I could test some software and it came with firmware 1.25.00 already loaded on it.
