Thanks all for helping
I had a bad sd card unit / reader

All scanners are updated

Thanks to all at Uniden for supporting our investment in the dmr and nxdn upgrades along with their scanners!

Loving the Squelch controlled back light option.

With the 536HP/436HP and the 3 level back lighting, it would be really nice to be able to have an option with the back light to be set say on the dim level and then have the squelch control bring the back light on full brightness or any combination of settings. Maybe for instance on the 436HP allow the back light to come on dim or medium when the squelch opens, but if you touch the power/light button the back light could come on full bright.

Seems that the current firmware will allow the back light to come on at what ever the back light dimmer setting is, which is a great new feature, but it would great to have a bit more flexibility with the overall lighting options.

And a few other requests that hopefully will be considered??

Color alerts to have an option for the current configuration as well as an option to stay on or blink for the entire time the squelch is open. This would be FANTASTIC if this was for the 15x, 396, 996, 325 and of course the 436/536 and SDS100. I fortunately own all of these and multiples of some of these radios!

Same goes for the Squelch controlled back light feature for all of the pre 436/536 and SDS100 units.

This would really polish up the older products and give all Uniden owners faith that their products are currently being improved even with small features.

I along with probably all other owners of Uniden products really, really appreciate the continued work on firmware updates for both current and older products. These actually do add new excitement each time a firmware update that is released that corrects bugs and/or adds new features even if very subtle.

Of course there will also be bumps in the road and back steps with firmware updates, but with good feedback from end users and a commitment from the manufacturer hopefully in short order the bugs will be messaged out and solid firmware will be available to all.

Uniden, props for the extra efforts and good work. It appears something has changed and it seems for the better. Maybe the firmware team is catching up, maybe there have been changes in staff and/or the way features and bug info is communicated, but this is all good.

Thanks to Paul and all the unnamed people behind the scenes that are likely not even located in the US that are hard at work. Most of us appreciate what they are doing for the product and hobby.

The DMR slot 2 hang while priority is on is now fixed. I will have to listen more but now when a transmission starts on S2 I have seen the display blink between S2 and S1 or change from S2 to S1 when the transmission is over and then continue scanning.

I'm seeing better UID capture on P25 Phase 2 systems. Still missing occasionally, but that could be system related too.

This FW made CAP+ DMR work the best. Since installing, zero false RIDS. And ZERO false tgIds. Not to mention reception is much better.

p25 seems faster on voice channels.

Thank you Paul and Uniden... keep the updates and improvements coming....

Not a new issue (previous version did the same) but I have a single frequency NXDN system that is at times stopping on an passing audio from a locked out talkgroup. The TGID always comes up as 0.

1 question...as I am still fairly computer illiterate when things don't work right. I download the file and un-zip it with win-zip and get a message "file not supported". Do I need a program to open .bin files? Thanks.

You don't "open" the bin file, which is the actual firmware file. Copy the *.bin file to the firmware folder of your scanner, then let the scanner reboot after correctly exiting from mass storage mode. You should get an onscreen message "updating firmware", as well as a message not to turn off or remove power while the update is being applied.

UPMAN Can you make one change before its nailed down? I wish I had know about y'all were going to do a firmware update I would have asked this before now. Would it be possible for Uniden to assign the correct channel numbers to the corresponding frequencies for the Monitor Weather for the 436? None of them are in the right place. If its possible it would be greatly appreciated. Other than that the update went like a breeze as it always does with my unit.

Thank you.

WX2 162.400 MHz 36B wx1

WX4 162.425 MHz 96B wx2

WX9 161.775 MHz 83B wx9
WX10 163.275 MHz 113B wx10

Per the NOAA wiki and website. the WX Channels are correctly listed in the x36 scanners.
They follow the NOAA Official Channel name designation. They do not use the public made up one.

Most mainstream NWR receivers (and their operating manuals) confuse the WX and seven-channel Public Alert numbering schemes, and apply an inconsistent channel 1–7 labeling scheme (usually implemented in ascending frequency order)

no changes are needed here.

Looks like I spoke to soon. Although the hang on slot 2 with priority on is much better I did have it hang tonight on a dmr con+ system where a TG showed slot 2.

Please bear with me as I'm new at this .....Is the 'firmware directory' labeled as such....in other words, specifically where do I put the file?

[ ...To install, unzip the above linked file. Then, copy the appropriate file (based on name) to the scanner's firmware directory.....
