Basically my listening has shifted from Troop H all the time to Troop L, it comes in like like H did... so something at some-point was adjusted. I don't have my G5 anymore so now I am scratching my head wondering about pulling the trigger... thing is I like the versatility of the 325p2..

I was gonna say, my 325 has the shure 700mhz PA antenna on it and it hums along just fine, even in the car like my old G5 used to. Pretty impressed. I am also a sucker for older styled LCD screens, particularly amber colored ones.

I am running the SDS200 side-by side with the 325P2.

The 325P2 picks up transmissions on the stock antenna that the SDS misses on an external Discone.

Great scanner! (y)
And in my location it's the opposite. The only scanners that have a hope for hearing any of the transmissions on CLMRN are the SDS.

Will have to report when I get a couple of new antennas set up (wish me luck that they work).

So you do strongly suggest the scanner ?
Depending on your location. My BCD325P2 tracks CLMRN fine from most locations. The SDS100/200 track it better though.
But only the SDS series work from my apartment.
All 3 scanners work fine from a quarter mile up the road and beyond.

Do you know anyone that has one that you can try from your location?

No, I'm in Waterbury, CT. off Lakewood Road.
I really don't understand this current situation with the scanners invole.

I have the sds100 and it’s good on the system. I’m not close to Waterbury but I’m not on the other side of the state either. I’m maybe 10-15nm away.
Ii compare it to my dadplus fast lane and it gets mostly all the calls. I don’t have a percentage but it’s pretty high for the little bit of time that I’ve used it. I’m not sure if I should be hearing calls from Norwalk or Groton far away but I don’t believe I have.

Unless you have all the models, it is impossible to determine which might work best for you where you are.
Also, keep in mind that outside sources of interference such as cell towers can obliterate the signals. I was on a ridge within a couple hundred feet of a Verizon and TMobile site last week and a search of 700 & 800 gave me absolutely nothing even with a CLMRN site in direct line of sight 3 miles away.
Perhaps back it the thread you posted how you are programming the scanner but I don't see it. Are you using the RR datbase or did you make a custom file?
I found that creating a system in my 996P2 with nothing but the control channel gave me the best results. Of course you have minimal control over the activity you hear but in might be a start.

Im not really sure if you read the people that post here to try to help you when you make statements....
Your HP-2 Will track the Waterbury and CLMRN systems. You just need to work with the scanner to get it set up correctly and in the correct place.
I use a 536HP in the Waterbury area (The same programming as the HP-2 for the most part) all the time along with a 996P2 and they both work great, but you have to be smarter then the scanner, understand how to program it and read read read about how to make it work with Phase 2 systems, there are literately 1000s of posts on how to do it, and tips and tricks to get it to work

Will the HP-2 be the best...No. Can you do better? Yes.. If you just want Waterbury and CLMRN I would suggest a Unication G4
The Lakewood rd area of Waterbury has a Waterbury TX site right on top of it, and you would be listing to the Wolcott site for CLMRN and you will get Troops A&I (Your local ones) without issue (I have done it from that Walmart parking lot on my 536HP)

Hope that gets you where you need to be

Like Others, I am using an SDS100 which was working great as far as picking up CT State Police (mainly D,E,F,G, but often other Troops), using a Remtronix 800 antenna (home and Mobile). With the recent switch to TDMA, now deaf for these transmissions. Conventional, DMR and New London/Waterford P25 working fine. Anyone in the SE part of the State (Lymes, Waterford, NL) that can shed some light on how I might adjust settings? As far as equipment, have tried the Shure antenna as mentioned in the Thread - no Joy. Thanks in advance.

I am out of power for the foreseeable future but I am going to have to set up an indoor discone and hope that that does the trick.

Hi Darkness975 - been a bit since I could respond, but, using the FLs you provided as a starting point, along with setting Squelch to 0 and Hold Time to 2 sec, I am once again hearing CLMRN on the SDS100, from Old Lyme. Not sure what the specific trick was, (likely a combination) but good to go for now. I will continue to experiment with antennas, etc. Many thanks for your assist...

You have the squelch set to 0 ? I've always kept it on 2 ...
