• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Unication should be THANKING that dealer for creating a positive hype for the company the last few days. News that the company truly needed.

Then Unication goes and screws themselves in the foot AGAIN. How? By removing the link for the download and by using a "remote Downloader " to a server. I honestly don't know what information they are collecting when we log into there servers for the download. When they could've just posted it like a normal download and be done with it. Something just doesn't add up with their method. After all, Unication does things that are just plain dumb. One example is the way firmware and pps are given out. You literally have to email your dealer for a copy. Again, post the link, download it and be done with it. Is the DRAMA REALLY NEEDED!

Go back and read the first post in this thread. It was from a Unication dealer, not Unication itself. Clearly, that dealer was not authorized to make that announcement. So, yeah, if I was Unication, I'd blame the dealer.

Sorry, but that's blatant scapegoating. The issue would still have happened if the vendor hadn't "pre-announced" the release. The "masses" (I wonder how many actually tried the update) would still have learned about it and tried to do the update at around the same time yesterday, Clearly someone didn't anticipate the server not being able to handle the load....

The "masses"..... Roflmao!!! I wasn't aware that these G pagers are as common as an iPhone that EVERYONE rushed to update it, AT THE SAME TIME. I call BS on the excuse the servers were overwhelmed. These "servers " must be a joke if they can't handle the traffic of a couple of people at the same time. It's not like these pagers are owned by every hobbyist.

Or maybe... Perhaps... The servers are ran by the same people as Crooked H! Lmao.. :)

If I worked for Unication I’d shutdown the consumer sales. Keep only the first responders and law enforcement business.

People need to grow up here.

I was an early purchaser of the G5 and paid full price and was promised PII support. So I was pissed when they all of the sudden they wanted to charge me for it. Now they are supposedly giving the upgrade away for free and those who paid for it are pissed. I'm just hoping that this upgrade fixes my two-tone falsing on analog channels that has occurred on two different units and no, it's not a programming issue....

I honestly don’t care if the address comes back to a chicken coop, with the performance I get out of my G5 and how much I use it, the where it comes from or gets serviced matters 0 to me.
Just my 2 pennies

This upgrade has fixed several problems across the 8 G5's I currently manage for individuals and departments. The biggest issue and fix was the units would miss calls if they were set up to monitor (or selective call) multiple talk groups with QC's enabled. Now, the unit picks up every call on the priority talk group every time. I credit the new vocoder. It's doing a great job now and my guys are happier.

Just updated my G4! Worked seamlessly. Although I already had Phase 2 prior to this update it feels better to know it’s the most recent firmware.

Unication? Can you please offer any info to any of the posts in this thread concerning purchased, free, or other phase 2 upgrades?
Firmware links available and working or removed?

Just finished updating my G4 - it's resolved the issues I was having with error messages I was receiving trying to monitor KC site. Awesome!

The RemoteUpdater program is still not available for download, but if you downloaded it last week, it may work now (where it failed login before). I suspect that they will wait until most of those of us who already downloaded the program complete the upgrade before they make it available for download again (as a way to moderate the load a bit).

Seems the server is down again. I'm getting the login error this morning.

EDIT: 0245 central, it's up again. Got my upgrade!
