I gotta ask, do they ever use FERMION as a call sign?

Did you meam FREON? If you did, Selridge A-10's haven't used that call sign yet. They might use it some day. It was rarely used with the F-16's. ROLEX was another one that would pop up once in awhile, with the F-16's.

No, sorry, bad physics joke.

In particle physics, bosons are subatomic particles that obey Bose–Einstein statistics. Several bosons can occupy the same quantum state. The word boson derives from the name of Satyendra Nath Bose.

Bosons contrast with fermions, which obey Fermi–Dirac statistics. Two or more fermions cannot occupy the same quantum state.

That's pretty cool info. I don't remember Carl Sagan talking about that on Cosmos? ;~)

Anybody taking a trip to the downtown motown hoedown on Saturday 5/15, the schedule of events lists an Air Force flyover sometime between 5:10 and 6:15 pm.

Oops, see above posting by iMonitor.

The Victor interplanes are somewhat outdated; the A-10s have been using two UHF radios most of the time. Here are the A/As that I've gathered from observers in this thread:

273.000
307.600
314.400
326.000
349.400
386.000

It may also be useful to listen for the 180th FW as well; they are doing a few flyovers in the northern Ohio area.

120.500 Mhz PTK DEMON 11 flight checked in with Pontiac Tower for the Waterford Parade, they also said they were too low to make contact with Detroit Approach. Then they flew over the Ortonville, Heartland & Milford Parades, plus they requested a low approach of the Pontiac Airport (9R). Shortly after that TEJAS 21 flight flew over the Clarkston parade then went back down toward Beverly Hills.

USAF EAM's on 311.000 MHz

Howdy

The USAF 311.00 Frequency is the old SAC Primary / now ACC and is used for a number of contacts with ACC aircraft and Command Post operations.....Often is used for various exercises or 'remote' or Airborne Command Post configuration.... might be used to test responses or configurations, etc...

Catching an EAM on 311.00 is more rare these days in parts of the USA, as the most are on the HF network(s) such as 11.175 USB as the primary global frequency. Most times Offutt and Andrews AFB are the net-control stations / back-ups, but once in a while you will hear one of the other stations answering a "Main-Sail" call or sending an EAM or SkyKing message.....

The RR Wiki and other Internet resources go into more details...good catch!

Thx

Bill

Surprisingly heard sting mention about being 35 miles south of bad axe today, but it was about 11:45 at night!
Talked about and to Cleveland about the usual moas they were heading to. I keep hearing about Garland a lot besides this time, where is it? Also they mentioned about 'Gauntlet'; as well, any ideas?

You can find maps of the MOA's here. Click on the little plus Symbol next to the MOA name. All the MOA's are active Sunday also.

LOMA 51 x 2 should be landing soon at Toledo. Think they are doing an ORI (Operational Rediness Inspection). They've been flying since about 08:00am this morning.

Toledo F-16's 07-31-10

Toledo F-16's have been doing a lot of flying lately. The BRAVE flights are Oklahoma F-16's flying out of Alpena. That info was confirmed from another source that was up at Alpena.
Also if you heard a STONE flight in the past 2 weeks. That would be AV-8B Harriers, also flying out of Alpena. I saw 3 of them there on Thursday july 15th. I was also at Grayling Range that day, but the range has been closed to the public until July 31st.
