Programming in ProScan is done basically the same way as it's done in Sentinel and at the scanner front panel.
Add a system then add department/s and site/s. Add the TGIDs to the departments and add the frequencies to the sites.
To add a system, click on a Favorite node then click the Add System button (circled in red) then at the Prompt, choose MotoTRBO (like in the 1st image) then click the OK button. The LCN and Color Codes are set at the frequency level like in the 2nd image.

It's ok that I don't know the LCNs?

After adding the Department, can I use ID Search instead of adding the TGIDs until I figure them out?

Thanks Bob!

To change to ID Search, select the system node then on the right side, click the System Options tab then check the ID Search box.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but here's what keeps happening:

I make changes to my programming. I make sure that all System Quick Keys for each system are checked (Check All). I copy the entire programming to my SDS100. When I read the scanner, the programming shows changes, so I accept the changes. When I bring up any system, it shows only System Quick Keys in blue, minus the last one (see image).

I always read from the scanner before making changes and then write back to the scanner after making changes.

It's the same way for every system.

Thanks Bob!

Just remember, I'm not a ProScan "expert" or even close, so it could be something that I'm doing wrong. I just found the minus 1 to be odd.

Any way on Proscan Client on the Audio Control tab to have it stay fixed on the "Output Sound Device" selected incase the audio source is removed? I have about 14 proscan clients running on one machine and have each instance pointed to specifc usb sound cards left or right and have had on occasion the sound card has come unpluged or dropped out while listing and the all the audio defaults on all the instances running will suddenly defualt back to the "Primary Sound Playback" and then I have to go and select all the instances back to the correct sound card. Has anyone ran across this before or can think of a way to at least have it select the sound card that was selected before once its reopend again and usb card is back online.

That sounds like a suggestion.

Per the Bug Reporting and Suggestions link
If you have suggestions, send an email to support@proscan.org One suggestion per email. The advantage of email is that I can ask additional questions to make sure the suggestion is done right and send you the latest ProScan file with the suggestion implemented. Priority is given to suggestions received initially via email. Put "suggestion" or "request" in the Subject line.

Are all the instances of the Free Client installed in separate folders? When one USB sound card is unplugged, does it affect the other USB sound cards? See if they all disappear in the Win Mixer Playback tab like in the image below.

Google Maps not loading for anyone else? When I click the button, I get a few script errors and then the window pops but doesn't show the map. Script errors point to the api for Google Maps so maybe they changed something?

It's fixed. It will be in the next release.
{edit} For a workaround , go to the menu Tools then click on Google Maps.

I know last week it worked. A hour ago I tried and nothing. I think Google Maps changed something on their end? I see the color scheme is different on their site.

I'll look at it before the next release. For a workaround uncheck the box 'Use Internal Browser'

Yeah, their API changed. Bob said he has a fix ready to go in the next release. So, all is well.

I was thinking of another issue but it doesn't appear to be the case.

Something between google maps version 3.53 and 3.54.12a broke the internal browser. I could hardcoded it for 3.53 and it works.
For a workaround uncheck the box 'Use Internal Browser' so your default browser will draw the map in lieu of the browser that's inside the window.

Hello. I’m currently on the free trial and have so far been very impressed.

One snag I’ve run into however is cross checking the RRDB and my favorites list.

I used the RRDB import tool to import my local RCS system (P25). I then moved the talk groups around to mimick the fleet map of my agency. It appears in doing so that it has confused the RRDB comparison tool.

Is there a work around to this or could there be a future release that sorts the database by TGID rather than each department as listed in RRDB?

Thanks,
Brendan

Issue with SDS200 and BCD436HP Com Ports in Proscan

I currently have an SDS200 and a BCD436HP connected via the front USB port in each scanner. My issue is that when I load up each scanner instance in Proscan, I am left with a blank scanner screen, and I have to manually unplug and replug the scanners and then reselect the Comm port in each instance. Is there any way to eliminate this completely so the scanners automatically communicate with ProScan?

That's a known issue with the driver and scanner UART chip on the BCD996P2 and later model scanners. Whenever the computer reboots, the scanner needs to be power cycled or the USB cable reinserted. You could try switching to the Microsoft driver If using the Uniden driver to see if it helps.

To fix it on the BCD536HP
Use the rear DB-9 port. You will need a DB-9 to USB adapter along with a null modem adapter or cable. I believe some USB cables have a built-in null modem. A null modem is nothing more then swapping the TX & RX wires.

To fix it on the SDS200
Use the LAN port.

That sounds about right. Moving a TGID from one group to another should result in 'Add'(or missing in ProScan) in one group and 'Delete'(or missing in the RRDB) in the other group.

The TGIDs can be sorted now. The TGIDs will sort within their own respective groups and they will not move to other groups.
Go to the Utilities menu item then click on Sort then select TGIDs along with the Favorites and System you want sorted. Click the Sort button.

This cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008634VJY?th=1 works great on the 536 as well as the BCD996 (T, XT and P2 versions) and BCT15/15X using the rear serial port. No null-modem adapter needed, it is already wired properly. It is probably cheaper than a USB-1 or a serial-USB adapter as well. I have a few and they have never been an issue.

You can also take a USB-1 cable, cut off the end and install a DB-9 if you like. Using the rear serial port helps prevent front port damage, it is much more sturdy than the front port!

On the SDS200 I usually just go to the CommPort Menu and click on "Select" after restarting the software. One of these days I will get around to setting my SDS200's up on the LAN port!
