With my BCD996P2 I have NOT observed this behavior.
With mute enabled or the volume turned all the way to zero, I hear no audio, regardless of channel volume offset settings.
Using v22.1 as of today. Never experienced that with previous versions.
John
FWIW: With my BCD996P2, I *do* observe this behavior with 1.10.01 firmware. (I have not updated the firmware)
WIth the volume turned to 0, I hear audio through the speaker on a p25 talkgroup with volume offset = +3.

This appears to be an issue with the Uniden firmware - not ProScan. I would expect that the volume offset be ignored when the volume is set to 0 so that the speaker is muted.

I'll check that. My quick check I mentioned was with conventional frequencies, non at +3. I'll have to check a couple of trunking talkgroups and see what happens.
The firmware on my 996 is 1.10.02

Since it *appears* that @Chris0516 sees the volume display = 0 when muting through ProScan, I will share my observation regarding the volume offset.

On an SDS200 with firmware version 1.10.00:
If I set the Volume Offset to +3 for a channel, there is audio passed through the speaker although the Volume=0.
If the Volume Offset is set to 0, no audio is passed through to the speaker if the Volume = 0.
In summary, my observation is that if a +volume offset is assigned to a channel, you will hear sound from the scanner even though it is muted by Proscan (or the volume is set to 0 via the knob).
Thank you for pointing that out.

Perhaps it's just my instance, but I was updating a scanner just now with the 22.1 update and I don't get the little info pop up on the map meaning there's no "update node" or whatever button. I tried unchecking the box by Show Info Box... to see if it would appear on hover and I am still not getting it. v22.1 on Win11 22H2. Just me?
Uncheck the 'Use Internal Browser' option so your default browser loads and then you should get the 'Update Node' button when moving the node around..

New to proscan but so far, really like it. I currently have 2 15x, 1 996xt, 1 996p2, 3 536hp, and a sds200 running with it. Works great. but wondering how to save the screen layout and color settings and all so when I restart the computer, it all loads back up on the monitor I currently have it setup on? I read much of the manual and sessions doesnt seem to be what I want. i like the detached scanner with the scanner history scrolling on separate windows in another monitor. I see many people useng this software like I do but no mention on how they get it to come back up with custom colors and layout each time.
Thanks

Are each of the ProScan instances installed in separate folders? They need to be. Does the other options needs changing when starting ProScan such as the scanner type? The colors along with all the options are stored in the ProScan.cfg file. It is saved each hour and when the program closes.

yes, I am running 8 separate instances. Copied the initial install so I have 8 folders with unique names.
I just tried saving and reopening and it did keep the colors and scanner type. Cool. I guess I hadnt saved them before.
So, 2nd part is how do I make it reload in the pervious location on the screen? I know that is a windows 10 question. I assume there is a macro recorder I could use or is there another way? Any recommendations on how to best accomplish this?
Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Disregard. If I click 'copy' on the existing one it then lets me manipulate it. I should have tried that before I posted.

What's the secret to creating multiple rectangles for location? I convert to rectangles and can set that one fine but if I add one (which shows all zeros, of course) when I highlight it and click Google Maps it seems to load the other one and any changes made affect it and the one I added still has all zeros. What am I doing wrong? First time trying to get more detailed one the location based scanning stuff and some counties need two or three rectangles to cover them without overlapping way into another county.

ProScan should start up in the same location that it was in when closed.

Hi. I have a problem with recording in ProScan, which is in "Remote Scanner over IP" client mode. In the "Monitor & Test" audio tab, if I turn down the "Playback" volume, the recording is also muted. Muting the volume in the "Remote Scanner Over IP" tab also mutes the recording. It seems to me that turning down the volume in "Monitor & Test" should not affect the recording, only the output to the speakers.

That's by design on the RSOIP Client side. Typically the Playback controls should be left in the mid position. If an audio feed is too hot then the playback controls can be turned down. You don't want a hot feed to distort the recordings.

{edit} The Monitor & Test Playback controls are the same as the RSOIP Client Playback controls.

I see. But it would be nice if the volume controls were separated :) In normal mode, adjusting the volume "Monitor&Test" does not affect the recording level.

To me, it's confusing with two controls to turn down the levels on a strong audio stream or up on a weak stream.
The audio model has been the same for many years and I haven't heard of any issues with it.

I would like to set avoids globally on radios/tech and school buses, and channels containing certain strings in general, is there a way to do this?

Edit: I'm ok with exporting to CSV for this but don't see a way to import it back. Running v22.0.

Thank you.

Turning off the service types might solve it?

I typically import systems into my favorites and then go through and delete stuff I know I will never want to hear which is how I would handle it. But Service Types might solve it for you. Unless, for example, the school buses are listed as Schools and you want to hear some school traffic that isn't buses.

You can go into it in ProScan and check the avoid box in the list of channels/talkgroups, too. That will skip them. I'm not in front of the software at the moment or I'd do a screenshot. My terminology might be slightly off from what is shown on the screen but as you drill down into a system, expanding the tree on the left, you will see an Avoid column.

Yes, school buses being tagged under Schools is a great example of the issue and Public Works and others aren't much different. I will need an easier way to handle avoids due to the way my favs are set up, otherwise, it would be extremely time consuming. Good news is that I may have some workarounds but it will require rebuilding my lists, which I was wanting to avoid. Thanks, I appreciate your input.

Edit: PS. Multiple service types have been dedicated to LE, FD, EMS, and Multi, why not others?

To add, I prefer not to delete any more than I have to, but in this case and others, I can use find and delete vs avoid, which helps a lot. (y)

Bob, I have poured through my previous posts here. Because, I know I asked you how I should be able 'drag and drop' in Proscan. But I can't find my previous question in thread. I have the Favorites Editor open, but when trying to move a FL, it won't budge.

It's a standard Windows Drag & Drop operation.
You have more then one FL. Is that correct?

Click the FL with the left mouse button and hold down the left mouse button down then drag the mouse to the desired location then release the left mouse button.
