ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Great release. Thanks Bob...

Randy, without your great suggestions and ideals, items such as "Print / HTML Reports", "Find Duplicates, "Update Text Tags", "Find & Replace", "Sort" wouldn't be what they are.

I think I must have done 90% of your suggestions Thank you for the suggestions and time you've spent testing.

I've been using Proscan with my BCT15 for a while now, and it's been great.
2 things that I'll call "annoyances" rather than bugs.

When using Proscan on my notebook to remote control My desktop that's connected to the 15,
1) The Jump feature doesn't do anything. Tune works, but jump just ignores me.

2) When clicking and holding the volume or squelch to adjust them, after a few seconds it acts like I've double clicked, and activates state, or mute. It seems like this is a little better with 4.4.3 but still happens.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve

I will take a look at the jump not working remotely before the next release.

Is the issue #2 intermittent or always with the same conditions. Remote or local mode?

id love to see an admin log on feature, so I could control my scanner remotely....regular users connect but no control, admin connects and has full control! Perfect for when im remotely listening and it gets stuck on a trunking control channel etc...I can hit l/o remotely and continue listening!

It does have this feature as Roy pointed out on my message board

That is how ProScan works. You set up your control/admin password and from a remore location you connect with another copy of ProScan and use the password and it gives you full control of the scanner. You can even upload and download to the scanner as if you were on the host computer.

Let me add that on the client side, using a password connects in control mode and without a password connects in monitor mode.

Thanks.

Both local and remote, and it's quite consistant.

Does it happen after you single click with the mouse? Do the knobs turn darker in color momentary indicating a knob press?
How long has this been doing this?

What happens if you hover the mouse cursor over the knob and not touch the mouse or keypad?

The way the knobs work in a nut shell is they receive a single (mouse) click event from the mouse via the operating system and the single click will focus the knobs indicated by the knobs illuminating. The knobs receive a double click to activate the "State", "Mute" and "Function"(large knob). The keyboard "Enter" key will also act like a double click if the knob has focus.

I would check your mouse. Maybe you have a weak switch. In the OS can you swap the buttons? If it still happens then look at the keyboard enter key.

.

It happens on a click and hold, i.e. I left-click the squelch, and keep it clicked to adjust the level, after about 2 seconds the knob turns darker, and the state selection comes up. As far as I can remember it's always done this.

I just discovered that a single click and release followed by using up/down arrows on the keyboard will work, so it's not a problem if I adjust that way.

OK I see now. Click and hold. I'm not sure of the thought process during the design stage but it will be changed so holding the mouse button will have no effect.

Another way to rotate the knobs is with the mouse wheel.

BTW the jump in client mode works now and the number tag (XT series) didn't work either.

Looking at the BCT15 manual page 42. I see why
• Press briefly to enable Alert Mute temporarily. Press briefly again to turn it off.
• Press and hold to enable Alert Mode continuously. Press briefly again to turn it off.
I'll have to decide if I should make it so the mouse(ball) can move the knob without holding down the button but then I may get complaints that the volume changes by itself.

The latest and greatest ProScan is out.

The Export / Print feature is enhanced to show all the systems (to channels) parameters. Check it out as I couldn't be more pleased with the looks.

The much requested changing the site and system (single site scanners) type selection box is in this release.

Version 4.4.4
=============
  • Added - Database - DMA scanners - Export / Print database systems now includes all parameters.
  • Added - Database - DMA scanners - Selection box for changing the site and system (single site scanners) types.
  • Added - Database - DMA scanners - Export the database to CSV (comma delimited) files.
  • Added - Startup detects Control Channel data on and turns off.
  • Changed - Database - DMA scanners - HTML Report renamed Export / Print.
  • Changed - Logging - Date now shows Month/Day/Year or Day/Month/Year depending on the computer regional settings.
  • Fixed - Program may crash if the option "Minimize To The Notification Area" is set.
  • Fixed - Scanner Over IP - Number Tag and Jump not working remotely.
  • Many - Many small bug fixes and improvements.
ProScan supports the BCD996XT, BCD396XT, BCT15X, BC346XT, BCD996T, BCD396T, BCT15, BR330T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and BC250D scanners.

ProScan contains the most features of any Computer Aided Scanning ever made. I stand by my words and product.

looks good! I see your still using the horrible new logging window!

Like many have said, please bring back the old logging window where you could seperate the trunking/TGID channels to the conventional channels...much easier to read!

other than that look good.

I haven't heard that before except from you several times. You mentioned a tick mark to indicate trunking activity. That would be redundant as TGID's indicate trunking and it will take up screen real estate.

You can sort the logging grid by the TGID column so all the trunking channels are together.

Actually the new logging contains more info and is highly optimized for efficiency.

Thanks for the nice complement and I'm glad you like the printout. I thrive to make the program as perfect as possible.
