There were no dwell time changes, due to upgrades. I always left them as they originally were. I never though this affected the voice channels anyhow.

Of course, I've tried it though and will see :)

UPDATE: Dwell settings don't work for the issue. Listening to PD and a fire group clomped the PD TG hard. Looked like the PD group wasn't even active. Funny thing.. it is ALWAYS fire doing the interference.

Is it possible you've got fire set to a higher priority than the pd?

Is there support for P25 phase 2? I think the City of Oakland has moved over and I'm having issues with it.

Has anyone been successful running 2 Airspy at the same time (Decoding 2 seperate systems) ?

I have 1st one working great - when I set up the 2nd airspy - system slows way down, takes extra time to start / stop - and I cant seem to decode the control channel very well at all - have duplicated all settings of first airspy - using same antenna setup.

Any advice or tips ?

Thanks

Is anyone else hearing lots of unwanted talk groups now?
I've been looking at this but, so far, not found a way to recreate this.

Any additional information is most welcome.

What receivers are you using? How are they configured? What systems do you monitor? What were the rankings of the wanted vs. unwanted talkgroups?

Look at the Users tab. What is the rank / priority of most of your users?

Thanks for trying to help! I am using a RTL2832U receiver to monitor a P25 system, along with a DEBUG receiver to control SDR#. I have my listen threshold set to 50, so all wanted talkgroups are less than or equal to 50, and all unwanted talkgroups are more than 50.

I am sometimes hearing talkgroups with priority of 78, 79, etc. (which I should never hear), even while talkgroups with priority 13, 15, etc. are broadcasting at the same time on another frequency. I have all users set to priority 200, to effectively disable user priority.

Everything worked as expected in Release 30. Shortly after I installed Release 31, I started hearing unwanted talkgroups. By watching the Call History tab, I observed that it seemed to happen immediately following a wanted talkgroup broadcasting on the same frequency, as if Unitrunker didn't notice the change of talkgroup.

I should also add that I monitor a P25 simulcast system, which causes my signal health to constantly bounce around. This has always resulted in a few missed calls, but hearing unwanted talkgroups is new.

Ask anything else to help you debug this. If you think it will help, I can even downgrade to Release 30 to verify the problem goes away. Would I need to uninstall 31 first?

Does your host PC have the horsepower to run two AirSpies?

Run the task manager and click on the Performance tab. If one or more of your CPU cores is close to 100%, you will see sluggish performance (even though over all CPU load is way less than 100%).

From what I am observing the CPU is a steady 35% running Unitrunker with 1 Airspy.

Processor i5-4460 @ 3.20 GHz
8 GB RAM
Using 6% of Disk Space

RTL-SDR dongles.. the r82t's Motorola type 2 analog. Ranking seems to have no bearing... The fire groups are locked out with a 50 ranking, whereas the police groups vary from 45 down to 25. Group that gets me most oftes had a talkgroup ID of 272, interfering with 4 and 5 digit TGs.

This problem is so intermittent, I need to look at al the screens when it happens so I can pinpoint it. Things such as if the groups are on adjacent voice frequencies and the dongles are capturing the traffic. I have a 120 gain on my analog stuff, so I don't know if there is a gain issue. I can bump the priority up to say 60 on the offending groups and drop the gain a little and see.

If you need a gain higher than 50 on an RTL stick, then something is wrong somewhere.

Thanks Jason.

How many VCOs have you configured on each AirSpy?

What is the CPU load for *each* of the four cores on your quad-core i5?

I'm not sure, but this might really be a bug in SDR# (or maybe in both?) I just noticed that sometimes the frequency displayed in SDR# does not match what I am hearing. This is all very confusing.

how does the Drift Correction (Auto-correct for thermal drift in RTL2832U devices) work?
is it in addition to the manual Correction value?
is some time needed for it to figure out the drift?
is there a drift history saved somewhere?

Hmm... yeah, ok. I'll see what I can do bumped down to 50. BTW: I use Unitrunker standalone with NO SDR#

Dropped gain... still hearing the fire traffic on a PD group. Definitely not adjacent frequency interference. No traffic either side of the voice channel that was clomped on.

The drift correct feature makes slight adjustments to your manually provided correction value.

It requires ...

a. start from a well centered frequency.
b. squelch has been set for full quiet when no signal is present.

Manually entering a new correction value automatically cancels the drift correct feature.

There is no display of the auto-correct value.

few questions.

so, i went to modify a channel's BW in
Site window > Channels tab

the program crashed. it just quit.

1) is there a log/text file where the exception would have been recorded?

when i restarted, the only site (previously discovered), numbered 1 was ignored. instead a Site 0 was created and attempted to be re-discovered. when i deleted Site 0, then the Site window was renamed from "Site 0 Adhoc" to what i had before.

no question here. i'm not sure what happened. i'll attempt to recreate the issue. let me know if you'd like me to check/do certain things.
EDIT> see below for reproduction steps

i also noticed that i had been running the instance of Unitrunker for over a week. and that Unitrunker seems to save its data during exit. needless to say i lost all my changes since the previous exit.

i understand that i can Export the info, which essentially writes Unitrunker.xml to {siteType}{siteID}.xml.

i found a crude way to save the configuration by attempting to exit the program. it saves all data, and when prompted if i want to exit, choose no.

2) is there another method to save all data (to the default files)?

3) would it make sense to implement a configurable timed auto-save feature?

---
EDIT> it's essentially an issue with an invalid value.

i've been able to reproduce it from 2 places:
a) Site # {LABEL} window > Channels tab
b) Universal Trunker window > Systems tab > (double click on system) >> {sysType} {sysID} {sysLabel} window > Channels tab

this works in either:
a) edit mode
b) double click on channel > Channel {LCN} window

it happens with either:
a) receiver in running state
b) receiver in stopped state

modify channel bandwidth from 12.500 to 13000 (should have been 13.000)

From the Archive tab click the icon to the left of the folder icon. I would describe it as looking like the front of an old external hard drive.

I was able to make the program crash as well by trying to set a value of 13000 instead of 13.000.

Assuming you have now set the values to 13.000 instead of 12.500, have you noticed any improvements in decoding?
