I have what may be an already asked question and maybe even answered but I couldn't find it. Is there any plan to add more detailed info to the CC decodes similar to what programs like trunk88 show? Unitrunker is my favorite but I sometimes just wish I knew more about what's going on behind the scenes.

Other questions I have is, what is the difference between a logon and a join? I may be asking a dumb question but thought I would throw it out there.

There is additional detail in the decode log.

A join means a radio joins (eg. affiliates) a particular talk group.

A login means the radio is allowed onto a particular site.

Different trunking formats handle these two differently.

I've been looking at this but, so far, not found a way to recreate this.

FYI, this bug has been driving me crazy, so a few days ago I reinstalled previous version 1.0.30.10, and the problem immediately went away and has not reoccurred. I am happy again.

I'm addicted to the preview test versions now :) I get the fire guys; but it isn't a deal breaker. There is absolutely no pattern whatsoever to this. I can imagine it will be a massive needle in a haystack diagnostic issue. I can wait. As new previews come out, the bug may vanish by a coincidence of updates. I will see if the new features help point to anything.

It's become almost a non-issue for me on the muting side since I changed my bandwidth to 2.56 MSPS. I'm pretty sure my theory about the channel bandwidth being too wide is what caused my muting.

But I'm still getting those talkgroups which are locked out/too low priority that manage to squeeze in behind legitimate group calls. That is still a bug for me.

Yes, this is the one that was ruining my listening before I downgraded.

Trying to trunktrack with a single receiver will always involve compromises (unless you're tracking regular LTR). The commercial equipment generally uses two receivers in the same case.

The original Motorola Type II analog trunking used both CC data and subaudible data on the voice channels to communicate with the subscriber units. Except for the early firmware Radio Shack PRO-92 scanner, I am unaware of any hobbyist products that ever used the subaudible stream. But the '92 was either/or. Once the CC firmware version of the scanner came out, it didn't use the subaudible data any more.

I haven't heard about any other trunking protocol that uses that method, so we're stuck with either monitoring the CC at all times with a dedicated receiver in addition to the voice following receiver, or else missing traffic.

Yeah, the issue is getting too many things, not losing out on them :) I'm going to switch to two dongles right now just to see if I can eliminate the possibility that the center frequency jumping around is causing the code to miss some control messages.

Whistler WS-1095

On the UniTrunker website under the whistler.html page the WS1095 is listed under the Inline Decoding which leaves me to believe the scanner is able to work with UnitTrunker. Under the WS1040 WS1065 I followed the instructions and the result from the scanner on the display is nothing to Scan.

You may have missed this step:
Go back to the talkgroup details tab and click "New" to create a new talkgroup. Pick an ID that you're sure isn't being used. For P25 - try 65534. Label that talkgroup "Unitrunker" (or some other useful memory aid so you'll know this isn't something to scan).

Umm....no...

Hmm. Well, back when Motorola trunking was being "reversed engineered" the statement was made that two receivers would be necessary in order to perform trunk following as the commercial equipment was able to do it. I took that to mean that said equipment had two receivers.

Misunderstandings obviously send erroneous information out into circulation, as in this case. If commercial trunking transceivers contain only a single receiver, then I stand corrected. However, to coin a phrase, "citation required."

Are the corresponding scan list and scan set enabled?

Turning Scan/Play Sets On/Off
To enable/disable a scan/play set, from the main menu press or to scroll to 'Scan/Play Sets' and press SEL or .
Use or to scroll to each scan/play set and press SEL to enable (checked) or disable (unchecked). Press to save and exit.
Note: The scan/play list(s) in the scan/play set must also be enabled (see below) or you will see the "Nothing to Scan" error. See also Scan/Play Set Mode.

Yes the scan list is set enabled, the only one set.

UniTrunker is working now. Been missing around with the scanner and UniTrunker this morning and with COM 1 and COM 9, after awhile COM 10 showed up and I selected COM 10 then UniTrunker started to work. I do not know what I did to get COM 10 to show up.

Well UniTrunker ran for about 15 minutes than stopped working.

Question and or idea.

Is there a way to configure the "users" screen to only display units the suer wants to see.

In other words, only display users in my police zone, so I can easily see if a certain police car is online or offline?

If not, is it planned for a future feature?

Thanks.

I may have a bad USB port since I change USB port and is working so far.
