Thanks, finicky laptop, did update successfully with another laptop with LAN connection. (sans wireless connection).
Now to the 536!
The 536 update went well. On both the 436 and 536 digital voice clarity is indeed greatly improved.
On that finicky laptop of mine, I did use admin access, but I have a feeling it was one of those internet firewall programs like
Malware Bytes and Spy-bot Search and Destroy etc that may have blocked access. I did not have the luxury of time to trouble shoot the issue extensively.
Its a moot point now, since the issue on my end has been resolved by updating both scanners successfully.
