I know this sounds ridiculous and I should know the answer but what does it mean when a radio perpetually tries to join talk group 0? Over the last two days my unitrunker log is full of entries with a particular radio trying to join tg 0. It's about once every couple minutes, sometimes several times in one minute. This is happening on at least two neighboring towers that I monitor at the same time all day.

The radio ID is correct I believe however it's like someone just didn't program the tgid.

NEW INDOC site up and online

Rockville INDOC facility has a brand new site for the SAFE-T,... Site 189. 3 Freq, set for around 28 and half mile coverage per FCC. Need accurate GPS coords if anyone an go there without being an inmate lol. Also need the site NAC.... Kinda looks like they took the old INDOC IJCF site, and moved it over to Rockville. This also means expect more INDOC conversions before very long.

My guess would be somewhere around the maintenance shop on the west edge of the property. It wouldn't have to be a high profile site. Maybe on the water tower at N 39.775770, W 087.257201.

Good guess... Top of the Water Tower. NW Edge of facility.

We also need the adjacent sites/neighbors... Willing to bet both Vigo County sites are in the list, as well as perhaps Boone Simulcast, Hendricks Simulcast maybe, possibly Mooresville..... Wabash sites....

And seeing another pattern of sites filling in the gaps.... Will expect the following site numbers to be INDOC once they finally pop.... 187, 190.... 160.... I believe 187 was the old IJCF when it was in the original mapping plan out. Maybe will go to INDOC Plainfield?

I would assume Bridgeton, Marshall, Vigo County, Clinton, Newport, Bainbridge, Putnamville, Brazil, maybe Crawfordsville. You'd be jumping past sites to get to Boone, Hendricks, or Mooresville. This new site is just northwest of the town of Rockville.

Even Vigo might be to far away... showing no site neighbor for that site off of both Vigo County towers

I will check a few more and see what I see ;)

Not seeing it off of Brazil or Clinton... are we sure it is active? Or it must still be on stand alone only?

The site is active but only carries “IDOC RTC” traffic and only allows affiliation to IDOC radios.

As I understand it, the IDOC radios can then affiliate on the statewide or regional IDOC talkgroups for transport details.

Westville DOC is still on its own, not yet on Safe-T. I drive close enough to hear it everyday when I drive to work. As soon as I notice a switch I'll post the info

It must still be stand-alone them because it isn't showing up as a neighbor to any site close to it

It does appear to be a stand alone (affiliation controlled) SAFE-T site.

Also, it never was a MOT2 site. It was a conventional stand alone analog repeater.
The repeater was on the facility’s radio tower until the tower blew down in a storm.
Until then, it had good coverage. After that, it was placed about 20 feet up on the
towers remnants. This limited the range greatly. I assume that is why they used
the water tower.

ALL INDOC sites specific to INDOC facilities will be (Stand Alone) cells with access limited to mainly INDOC users... Though they also will allow ISP, INDHS, and Federal radio access via forced affiliation,etc...

this site doesn't have any neighbors so is it connected to Safe-T (wide zone) or not?
and if its not connected then what good would ISP forced affiliation be good for other than basically site-trunking only?

What is the WACN and SysID say it is? They say SAFE-T. It is just not set up as an wide area open affiliation site. Just like the one down South, and the one up North. In an special case like say an riot or disaster centered on an DOC facility, where more than JUST DOC assets are needed, then the non DOC assets can be force affed etc. These sites are primarily for the INDOC facilities to avoid overloading the rest of the system, as can happen with a certain Madison County site.... Pendleton... Which gets slammed with buttload of INDOC, buttload of ISP, INDOT, etc.... Which is why MadCo on the IDPS family is a GOOD thing right now. If the plans for transition over happen like they want, Pendleton would become an mainly INDOC site, and the other stand alone would merge into the Madison County Simulcast. :) Now how they reset the INDOC sites in future could change but this is how things stand currently... There are still what.. 4 INDOC TRS to convert, and other things still in workings. Including the beginning of TDMA use on select sites....

Had a wildcard hit today with some encrypted traffic on TG 12633. Showed a "46" radio ID which would be Laporte County. Long Beach PD maybe...but who knows.

Looks like Westville DOC may be switching over. Unitrunker is showing a peer to Valparaiso site with a SysID of 090

Info I got from Westville DOC site. Still don't have a laptop to run unitrunker yet, but I did hear traffic on the site so it does look like they have switched over. Control freq is same as the old system.
