This Beta release has definitely improved my P25 Phase1. Conventional reception is still not that great. Also, when Holding on a Channel, the Backlight stays On constantly unless I manually turn it Off.

Given that you can't read the display when the backlight is off, I would think this new default behavior is a good thing. It allows you to see the activity the channel you are holding on. As you mentioned, you could turn it off if you don't want to watch the radio.

I have seen so many complaints about the backlight not staying on long enough or turning off early or not being on when someone thinks it should be on that I am surprised Uniden didn't just make it stay on permanently by now:)

The updated worked well for me. Fixed the alert light from not lighting at the correct times. My P25 reception is better, and so re the conventional frequencies. Thank you Upman & Uniden. Ah the advantage of SDR

If you post a log file created with the new firmware, it will be a lot easier fot Uniden to fix the problem.

On a MotoTRBO trunk (CON+) system I'm not seeing the LED activate with any consistency. Sometimes it works but most of the time I don't see any blinky LED. I have two TGIDs set up for RED/Fast blinky and it rarely comes on.

System monitored: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=7571

(I don't use RR DB in my SDS100)

Unless you know for a fact that every one of the frequencies listed on the sites you are monitoring ARE active in the trunked site, and that the LCN order IS correct, you should assume the answer is no to either one -- I would recommend that for the sites you can monitor, run LCN Finder (during the busier times of day for the given site) and see if the LCN information you obtain from LCN Finder matches up with what is listed in the DB.

It is possible that only the 454 mhz LCNs have been confirmed and that the rest of the frequencies were added to the sites based upon FCC license information, which would mean that LCNs could be unknown.

Uh what does this have to do with the blinky LED issue..? I am seeing and hearing the TGIDs that should have the LED activating...

Also to your above point why do you think I don't use the RR DB!

Ok, I thought maybe the blinky LED wasn't working because traffic wasn't being detected -- because of LCN order.

I understand what you are saying now.

Make a zip file of the log file, upload it to your cloud drive or Dropbox, and post a download link.

Also, post a link to the system you're having trouble trying to monitor.

I can confirm that the alert LED in not lighting consistently. I have some UIDs set to light it and it works pretty much 100% on the 436 when it displays the UID name during the transmission, but on the SDS100 the light only goes on about half the time (or maybe less) even though it is displaying the correct UID name during the call.

Log: https://1drv.ms/t/s!ApJIS-l4xqPtgvkBZRUaJ_nkewr2DQ

System is Franklin County PA https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=6803

Chambersburg PD dispatcher uses UID 100101. I have that UID programmed to display "Chambersburg PD Dispatch" and show the blue alert light. The dispatcher keyed up several times and the display showed "Chambersburg PD Dispatch", but the alert light did not light up in most cases. But the 436 lit the blue alert light consistently during te conversation.

Also, the scanner lost comms with the GPS again; the GPS icon indicator shut off and the lat/lon display showed "NO GPS". I was able to re-establish GPS function by going into the menu and re-selecting 9600 from the serial port menu. That is also in the log.

Installed the new beta files last night. Had the scanner monitoring the Phoenix RWC all day and the scanner NEVER opened squelch. I'll be rolling back to the previous version, where I was at least getting 50% of transmissions. I'm afraid this newest beta is a swing and a miss for me.

You peeps in the Phoenix area really need to submit some log files since that area has systems that seem to be difficult to monitor with the SDS100. Help Uniden help you.

I uploaded the latest firmware"s after reading the release notes addressed the "missing short replies". I can report after using it for two days, this minor tweak has been resolved on Starcom site 1-002. Reception has improved and it appears to be more stable.

I have switched any analog frequencies to FM instead of NFM which helps with any intermod I receive while near a heavy RF user environment. CPD is still using 460 Mhz analog and until this changes, that has always been an issue with any handheld scanner I've owned. I also set CTCSS tones which eliminates any outside interference.

I have been using this beta on the RWC for the last 24 hours or so and it seems to work just fine. I am in range of the Sim J, White Tanks and Towers sites and it seems to work fine.

This beta seems to improve the audio quality over that of the public version. I did seem to get the Towers site a little stronger on the public version however, I may revert back and try that again later.

Will report that my simulcast P25 system seems to be clearer and better performance. Excited to see the future of this scanner if this is where we are with the early releases.
