Mark,

I heard them as Deft flts---which would make them Langley F-22s. There were a bunch of them this morning, Wolf 23, Marlin 23 and Deft---all coming to PAX for overflight of runway 32 then on to DOV then ending up in W386. Maybe area orientation flts for newly-assigned pilots?????

Sure is confusing them using that DEFT 11,13 callsign.
On replay again heard a WOLF 21 not DEATH 21 so you are right.
Langley fighters.
Makes more sense than B-2's doing approaches. :)

Thanks Ron.

By the looks of it OMAHA-4 that just landed at KHEF is using the mode-S code for N16452. It was squawking 4404.

This mode-S code just became airborne and I heard OMAHA-4 departing from Manassas. They switched to DCA tower and identified as two UH-1s. Once again squawking 4404.

Not exactly a follow up, but certainly something worthy of interest to the milcomers here...

Dale W4OP (that's his ham callsign, for those that didn't know) of PAR electronics has just announced a new 225-400 mhz bandpass filter that is so new it isn't on their website just yet.

A bandpass filter passes only those frequencies in a specific range, and rejects all others. You can take a look at the announcement in the aircraft forum in the airband filter thread. He is offering band plots upon request.

PAR electronics has been making quality filters for many years. They can be a touch expensive, but this is one case where you get what you pay for. If you're bothered by FM, pagers and other junk in that band, you'd be wise to check this out.

Happy to report that I'm in Silver Spring for Thanksgiving, with a brand new 396XT and freqhopping's great files helping me scan. It's my way of keeping my mind off of food - just had some oral trissue grafts done yesterday and unable to partake in any of the food.

No big hits yet, but I was picking up someone on 349.400 a few minutes ago. I'm also struggling to match the 396 with the antennas I brought (a few duckies and two quarter-waves for VHF and UHF). My R20s are doing well, though.

Does anyone know if POTUS has plans for tomorrow? I doubt he's going to pull a Dubya move and sneak over to visit the troops, but I can hope!

Good to hear they're being of use.

Very much so! I heard a few BLACKJACKs and some REACH flights into Dover, but didn't spend as much time monitoring as I thought I might. I still need to tinker a little bit with the antenna.

Side note: I tried to load the Andrews 400 TRS, but kept getting an error message. All the other files I used worked just fine...thanks again for the good work.

Had a KC-10 BLUE11 on mode-S at FL260. Just heard a MAZDA flight hand off from 327.8, to 269.5 I think.

That system doesn't exist anymore anyways.

USMC C-130 163310 displaying WARPUPPY is now landing at Dulles. I thought it was going into ADW until it got below the altitude threshold for an ADW approach. I looked out the window and could see it, never heard on the radio though.

1702- Doesn't look like it was at Dulles long. I was gone for a bit and now see it at FL180. Must've left between 1630-1645.
1705- Heard PCT 118.675 handing off a CONVOY flight.

1720- VADER01 EA-6B 161118 VMAQ-209 departing ADW. 125.65 > 281.4
1726- to 370.925
1730- to Giantkiller 118.125
