AE2FD2 showing GRMN01 passing out of the area at FL250. Picked it up at 9400ft. German or Grumman?

Didn't log that one here yet but this morning have a
1450z GRIFFIN 1 with ZDC Snow Hill 236.825 till 1600z at FL190 between
Snow Hill and SAWED.
Too far South for me at that altitude to log but callsign
comes back to E-2C from VAW-121 Norfolk.
Could be coincidence similiar to above callsign.

Got a visual on a MUSSELL UH-1 flight of two heading towards Mt. Weather.
1705- Got a visual on another flight of two. And now hearing MUSSELL-9 talking to the tower. Advises 9 and 10 will land individually.
1710- MUSSELL-8 reporting 10 minutes out.
1712- MUSSELL-7 now 10 minutes out.

This morning around 0700 EST heard UPS 1446 working " New York Approach" on 123.7 which is normally the PAX VHF tower freq. Must've been the cold wx causing some skip

Only two of interest from yesterday afternoon:

Between 1903Z-1930Z:

ROGUE 53 (IDed as and visual on an AH-1) - up w/Davison AAF TWR 126.300 for landing rwy 32 then to Guard Ramp. Departed shortly thereafter headed west switching to Manassas TWR 133.100. Maybe USMC?

NIGHTHAWK 11 (H-3 HMX-1) also up with Davison AAF TWR 126.300 asking TWR to contact PAT ops to see if one of their aircraft was overdue, as their unit had been notified of a UH-60 PEL 7 nms. South of MCAF Quantico. Confirmed that it was company and NIGHTHAWK had an aircraft over the site and will provide assistance if requested. Did not have my U radio with me so no comms from HMX-1 Ops.

RUST07 E-6B 162784 called ops to make some arrangement for dropping off some pax. They are now in AR636 for some refueling.

I've been scanning the AR freqs but haven't heard them. But I did just hear some AR activity on 295.8 (AR631 pri)

2322- Cleared to 5k. Surprised it's still with ZDC, now at 8500.
2324- At less than 6k, hear a mention of Patuxent.
At 5125ft I now get a flight ID of all zeroes.

2327- Out of RB range around 5k and told to switch to 133.9. Then in range briefly at 5010ft.
And now E-6B 162784 is departing Pax.

2040- That unidentified C-32B type AE0433 is heading towards Norfolk from western VA.

Logging some interesting aircraft on the box tonight. One caught my attention days ago.

N2418B Supposed to be a Temco GC-1B but I really doubt it's this aircraft using the code. It's airborne A LOT.



The other I noticed tonight. N21485 squawking 4403. That would make sense for OMAHA3. I did hear OMAHA3 on the radio earlier today.

What ever this is, it's leveled off at 10,300 now. I haven't heard anything with ATC to match it to yet.

This one is really active and local too.


2338- N21485 is descending. Quickly! Just before this OMAHA1 was working with Dulles tower.
2342- Down to 3200.
2344- Finally. Heard the controller on 118.675 talking to OMAHA3 RTB KHEF. Not sure what freq they're using though.
2345- OMAHA3 IDs as a UH-1. 133.1 (A1CBEC)

OMAHA3 UH-1 is airborne, Was at about 10k, now descending.
OMAHA1 N578AE is also airborne around 1k ft.

It seems like whatever is using the code for N2418B may be a Colgan Air flight. It seemed to match CJC7797 into Dulles this morning.

1252- Colgan Air CJC7822 departing Dulles. This is the one using the code for N2418B.
1255- JENA096 now airborne.

It departed Dulles and headed south this morning. I just picked it up near IRONS at FL360- not a very strong transponder apparently.

Last night I was listening to an "Airshore-700" (E94042) that landed at Dulles about 0110. It left about 0430. I can't find anything about it. Pilot did have a Spanish accent, so definitely foreign and not a miscode.

Think that is one of those Texas T-38's

E94042 on mode s group shows as Bolivia CP-2640 B733 AeroSur.
