User aliases do not have the character limit that OTA aliases have, so they can be much clearer. Someone earlier in the thread appeared to be concerned because their User Alias count was still zero. I gave the reason.

Has anyone had an error getting the update? I downloaded but when I run test newest base files, it gives me an error that 3 files are corrupted or out of date and one is missing. I checked in the event log and through all my files, I have all the files. Not sure why it’s giving me this error

You may not have the right versions of all of the files. In the MISC menu you can also download the latest base downloads. Download that zipfile, unarchive it into a separate directory, and then grab the files from there (that DSDplus says are outdated or missing) and add them to your main DSDPlus folder.

I am at 3146 so far on MARCS Summit, i put them into Unitrunker and slowly the gaps are filling, this will probably take a while for less used radios

My biggest issue is with Alias Priority, as it currently stands during busy traffic times it will hang on Talkgroups that are not broadcasting aliases, I have seen several times it miss a valid Alias being broadcast while its sitting on another talkgroup, if we had a setting like alias priority lockout, it would be awesome.

I downloaded the newest base files. I was told I didn’t have to unzip it though, still a pretty new user

You were told wrong
So I unzipped the base files, they extracted fine. However, I still get the 14 passed, 3 not found and 1 corrupted, also the actual 2.509 extracting is another issue. When I go to extract it, it gives me an unspecified error and won’t allow me to extract. Kinda aggravated at this point, had the same issue with it before

When you extract the base files, they’re extracted into sub directories. You need to go into the sub directories and grab the particular specific files that you need and put them in your main DSD plus folder.

And you need a password to open 509. You should already know that. And regular windows will not unzip it. Need something like Winzip or 7zip

I just said I was a pretty new user. Had no idea you needed a damn password just to update it.

Good Morning, little present for you guys,

Disclaimer: Unitrunkers Excel imports are broken in the latest versions so this is My Workaround, YMMV and someone may have a better mousetrap but this makes importing the OTA Aliases into Unitrunker easier for me.

this does take a bit of prep work, and again someone might be able to improve on this

I take a COPY of my DSDPlus.Radios File and Strip everything but the RID and Alias and make it a 3 Column CSV file (Duplicating the Aliases into a 3rd column for the brief fields in Unitrunker - this is personal preference)

in the XLSX File Part one copy all the RID and Aliases into the Blue Columns
Copy the code on the right column

Open part 2 the XML file and Paste the data inside and use this XML to import the OTA Aliases
you can then imort into Unitrunker, you will have to confirm the changes but its pretty easy

I then run my automatic color words as the aliases im grabbing have a logical naming convention
