That's next, I run Unitunker 24/7. Any tips are welcomed
I just copy the radio file and save it as a CSV, open it in excell using fixed columns open and delete the unneeded columns, sort by alias, and delete blanks. After I save it and copy into whatever format I need it for importing, I have it loaded in my scanners using this method.

Hmmm, now there seems to be two totally different answers
I have most of my system locked out and I've collected aliases like crazy. I have some talkgroups that report alias in the channel activity but nothing ever is decoded which leads me to believe they don't have radio ID alias saved

Alias in the Channel Activity Window is not an indication that an alias is seen, but rather that DSDPlus is checking to see if a scrambled OTA Alias is being sent. At least that's my understanding.

Thanks for all the help, it's working now. It appears to be sending the data to the database but it's only capturing the aliases on 1E0 which uses group services.

RaleighGuy, I believe you have some users on 1FC near you that have group services enabled in their radios, it also has to be enabled on the system, on the sites you're receiving. I'll be in that area this weekend and will be running DSD+. The 1FC sites near me don't appear to have group services enabled.

1FC, all three Raleigh towers, will decode SHP units and VIPER techs, the W Ral site also decodes Duke Hospital PD and Security, with very limited other decodes. The Cary/Wake system, BEE00-596, also decodes, with Site 2 Wake County decoding the best (though some decodes are lame, using WAKE+the RID such as WAKE1835566).

More than likely you're correct, but if that were the case, wouldn't all my channels be saying alias? Not all of them do which is weird if your above was true. Only a few handful of them do

Just curious what were some in the ORION system? I ran DSD on the Prince George Harris system and only had 1 Alias, something like “ 57-P_ CBryant”

If you are referring to system 92988.00A Prince George Co Virginia, that is indeed a Harris system and has nothing to do with the DSDPlus 2.5x OTAAlias stuff. The gathering of scrambled OTA Aliases for processing and return of cleartext OTA Aliases is a Motorola thing, not a Harris thing.

DSDPlus already decodes Harris aliases (not sure if that is 100% of the time, but definitely it does for the Harris systems I monitor)

It's more about the radios than the channels, also these may be either older Motorola radios without the ability to send the OTA Alias or radios that are not Motorola. There are a lot of unknowns about this process and it is difficult to know what all the requirements are.

Its an optional entitlement that has to be added to the Flash of the radios for OTA to work on Motorola , its called group services
the option in APX CPS Looks like this, I do not have the entitlement in my radio so its greyed out, I dont know how much it costs to add this

I might have missed someone mentioning this already.

User aliases are not automatically updated with OTA data. The user must edit DSDPlus.radios by putting the alias info from OTA (between the quotation marks at the end of the line) between the original quotation marks before the alias code.

Why? You can select in DSD menu whether you use manually input alias which are the ones between the original quotation marks before the alias code, or you can use the OTA alias, or both. So in order for it to show up in DSD+ you do not need to copy/move anything.

No, you do not need to do anything. DSDPlus ignores the code and displays just the alias.
