Did you check the console log and event log for alias server related activity? So i have been trying to help a guy who is having some issues, all his ID Aliases are (_________________) now i am not having that issue and they are not even partially decoding. on his setup
things we have checked
1. Antivirus/Firewall/Router - I still think this is an issue, we added the ports we know about and did get the server upload message but no download message.
2. Signal strength, his signal was going through the roof, we turned that down.
any other suggestions
last week I was running laptop due to bands open up. I forgot to update to the 2.509 so I did that few mints ago. Now we should see Lee County FL be added to the list.Is he running 509 ? Make sure he is.
A few years ago when I was in living in a different area, I did something like what you did for excel. I took out a few things and made my own RID so when I put the info in for the sds 100/200. It was less typing and filling in the info for naming the rid. Since than I can edit both files (Radios & Excel) to be updated. So i have captured about 60% of Summit Co Ohio, saying that I decided to perform an experiment to work around not being able to lock out talkgroups when Alias Priority is enabled and to find less used RID Aliases faster.
I found a cool program called Modern CSV, i import the DSDplus.radios file and remove all the unneccesary rows (Extra data DSD adds) until i just have the good data
I set all the priorities of the un decoded RID's to High, then in DSDPlus i set the Call Priority to "Group Calls Including Radio Priority"
the last step in Modern CSV is to select all the cells and in the menu use "Data-Trim Cells" and "Remove Etraneous Cells and Columns"
then in Notepad ++ copy the data from that CSV to a Blank radios file
This also makes it easier to export the Aliases to any other radio you have - SDS100,200,Unitrunker,APX's etc
Just a heads up, some of the system admins are not thrilled this information is out, I had a nice cordial conversation with who I am assuming is the sysadmin for Summit County, OH on friday as he contacted me on thursday night, this morning the Aliases appeared to be turned off, so keep this in mind.
while it sucks they decided to do this, It doesnt suprise me.
I have an experienced that. I’ve got tons and tons of 14 characters from.WVSIRN.There are some differences as to what DSDPlus 2.509 and SDRTrunk 6.1 Final decode during the same transmission --

I saw this coming as soon as this project was undertaken. I've had my own Motorola APX radio decoding these alias for years, many radios personally assigned with names. I totally expect a firmware update at some point to encrypt aliases if the issue is pushed. Everyone saw encrypting channels because of streams , but I didn't think a small niche thing such as these SDR softwares would have it this quick, but as we know, lots of sysadmins on hereJust a heads up, some of the system admins are not thrilled this information is out, I had a nice cordial conversation with who I am assuming is the sysadmin for Summit County, OH on friday as he contacted me on thursday night, this morning the Aliases appeared to be turned off, so keep this in mind.

They've always known it's out there. They're able to encrypt the data. By not doing so, they're choosing to make it available to everyone. Doesn't matter if they're unhappy; it's their choice to put it out there. It's something subscriber gear has been able to do for years.Just a heads up, some of the system admins are not thrilled this information is out, I had a nice cordial conversation with who I am assuming is the sysadmin for Summit County, OH on friday as he contacted me on thursday night, this morning the Aliases appeared to be turned off, so keep this in mind.

Encrypted aliases has always been an option. Encrypted control channels have been an option. System admins cannot cry foil when the tools to protect this have been around for a long time.I saw this coming as soon as this project was undertaken. This is a known detail, I believe it to be a bug in DSD+’s online decoding process. There are some differences as to what DSDPlus 2.509 and SDRTrunk 6.1 Final decode during the same transmission --

I'm not in the industry but I don't think either of those things is a current option nor written into any standard as of yet. We are only now seeing systems implementing LLA. LLE is not a thing yet, and by design neither is encrypted aliases because they do not use voice or data frames that can be run through the encryption algos.Encrypted aliases has always been an option. Encrypted control channels have been an option. System admins cannot cry foil when the tools to protect this have been around for a long time.
