why are some dept's allowed to use standalone safe-t where simulcast is in the process of being built, such as laporte co? I rx some depts using the stand alone site quite often.

There is NO simulcast until all the towers are built, rigged, fitted out, programmed, and turned on as such. Until that time, all currently active sites are what is available, and is what is being used. Once the big switch is done, there will be at least 2, maybe 3 sites that will become part of the simulcast site, and thus cease to exist as stand alone sites. Then the current listing will have to me modified, which includes the CC, ACC, site NACs... the neighbor lists will all have to be changed. All users in the area will have to have radios OTAPed or Touched to reprogram in the new layout. That includes ISP, INDOC, INDOT, etc down to the local agencies.

Over the next few months your looking at 3 simulcasts popping, 2 in the next few weeks, and the third by snowfall.

Thanks for the detailed info, appreciate it.
I just thought dept's in laporte area were not able to use safe-t until the simulcast is completed.
Or depts had limited use until simulcast is complete.

I spoke too soon milf, sounds like some final testing on laporte. Lol

IPSC and Motorola loves the end/first of months and weekends.... Maybe we will see the simulcast go live in couple of weeks. Hope your ready for LSM Multipath Simulcast Distortion.... With the right scanner, right settings, right antenna, and locations, you should be okay.

My 396XT does very good, and my 436HP is amazing on not only our IDPS simulcasts, but is very good on the Boone County SAFE-T simulcast, and not too shabby on the Hendricks County Simulcast. I have not tested them much on the Shelby County Simulcast recently as I don't pick that one up as much after the final adjustments were done on that site. I will be making a couple of trips over that way soon and see what I can see. And since I will also be heading over towards the airport, will see if there is anything changed with the local IDOC site, and as added bonus nab what I can on the airport MotoTRBO systems.

I think Steuben County is going to be using several more talkgroups in addition to what is listed in the database. In the last two weeks I have logged the following groups all being used by 76 prefix radios. (Steuben County)

12670
12671
12677
12681
12682

I can't confirm this for sure but it seems these talkgroups will be associated with them.

I see 3 "99" radios setting on 10728 "ISP DES Central Zone " @ 07:46:53. On Pendleton, not Anderson site. Could be Fed DEA, maybe.

Also, A radio that was on 10249 last week (with Drew, Boots & George) was on 10183 Delaware Co Law TAC last night @19:57:09.

To me, it seems laporte simulcast has CC's turned on, anybody else notice anything?
I know it is not in full service yet, but CC seems to be stronger Or clearer in some areas.

Checked out 700 & 800 bands and didn't find any new SAFE-T CC's. Found Summit, Valpo, and IDOC Michigan City but that was it. This is with a unity gain laird 800 antenna in a second story window, but considering one of the simulcast sites is supposed to be in Michigan City only a couple miles from me I'd wager that it's not online - or extremely low power.

CC 859.7125
To add to my op, moto techs were testing on all freqs.
I get different RX levels on that same CC all around the county, same as I do in st joseph co.
Like the scanner is RXing the same data from 2 different directions as I keep locked on a solo site.
More difficult to RX now, June was better, using the same setup.

IDOC Michigan City Site

I have observed the following talkgroups on this site 1/88.
12481
12484
12485
12495
12076 Army National Guard Command
The RID's I have seen are:
9406xxx for the prision talkgroups
9308589 for the Army National Guard Command talkgroup.

There are no site peers being displayed, so it appears as if this is a single site.
