Guys,

Anyone interested in HF tune in 8912.0 USB---it's running with very heavy trfc both voice and ALE on CG ops in the Haiti relief

Kudos to the Coast Guard guys--they've been flying C-130s & helos in and out of Haiti like nobody's business---and the US Customs guys in their drug tracking acft have been aloft providing airborne ATC comms since the airport at Port au Prince still doesn't have land-based controllers.

Ron, BADLY 22 was another of the new MC-12W types running up through the area. No doubt will make many hops between here and Europe and then to the desert. (AE2F59) - possibly 09-0625.

I've logged three commercial C-130s over the last 24 hours. I wonder if they're involved with the Haiti effort.
Edit- Make that four, new code for me C058C1 is flight ID FAB710, C-GHPW First Air (Bradley Scheduled) Ltd. Scheduled to leave soon, Dulles to Port-au-Prince.

Currently have unknown ADFE25, in a descent. Has a screwy box too, altitude will change to random altitudes. Just went out of range.

My mode-S log shows AN-124 UR-82007 departed Dulles at 0648 this morning. I never logged it inbound. Must've come in when the box was disconnected midday yesterday.

In one of the news clips on Fox, I saw a Lynden Air Cargo C-130 on the ground in Haiti so they're doing something. I also noticed another C-130 from a company I didn't recognize on the SBS log. Wish I had written it down but didn't.

I don't have anything for that ADFE25 except a possible USCG HU-25.

Edit: Also just noticed on the news that REACH 6157 (06-6157, C-17A, 60th AMW Travis) is on the ground at Port-au-Prince airport in Haiti this evening. It was logged this afternoon by a couple of Florida SBS boxes.

Thanks Tony,
0900 local Think I may have logged a F-35B out of Pax.
unknown AE0A50 level 7.2k.Search says nobody has logged this one so far.
Quite a few T-38 jets up around Pax this morn.

Mark

Hi Mark, it would be great to think that you got an F-35 there.
Nearby hex AE0A54 is thought to be an un-tied UH-60 type, with a hit in Florida last year.
Did you have it on for long?, ie going slowly?

Adrian, I think you meant AE0A50 rather than 54. The 54 aircraft is most probably a C-12. Mark is the only one that has ever logged that AE0A50 which is strange if it was an F-35. I would think the Northern Virginia station that's closer to Pax than I am would have had it too. Guess we'll just have to get more on it before slamming a label on it.

Yeah guys I was surprised nobody else caught it.I assumed right after I posted
someone closer to Pax would catch as well.
Possible F-35B probably wishful thinking on my part as when i logged it
was hearing and seeing various Pax River aircraft all over so 2+2=5 most likely.
Odd log and could be old Navy aircraft or something else.
Maybe it wll turn up again..

Logged another Canforce C-17 thru here today.
2010/01/14 19:23z C-17 177702 CFC3645 FL27k-30k
This morning was
2010/01/14 11:32z C-17 177703 CFC3644 FL29k-25k.

Odd mode s miscode logged Thursday.Seems has been regular old miscode logged before.
2010/01/14 20:43z (FD0AAA) showing JENA024.

The Virgo Falcon exercise is currently taking place. Comms heard on 139.7. BRAVE-1/2, N636CP and N966CP are participants.

Sitting here listening to that Falcon Virgo exercise this morning. Those two CAP aircraft (the targets) are Cessna 182s showing 2250 and 5250 feet during the exercise which is what they always use. The BRAVE pilots are about as excited as they are while eating breakfast. You would think they'd change things up occasionally. By the way, HUNTRESS is just booming in here this morning - four bars on a scale of six on my radio.

0520: HUNTRESS asks fuel remainders of the F-16s...BRAVE 01 has 5800 pounds left....BRAVE 02 is "joker minus 1" with 3900 pounds. (joker is 4000 pounds) BRAVE 01 tells HUNTRESS that 02 has to go home but 01 can stay another 15 minutes. HUNTRESS tells them to RTB so they head for home at Andrews and switch to Potomac TRACON 257.2 after authenticating the RTB command. BRAVE 02 is going straight into Andrews' runway 19R and 01 will diddle around a bit at 5000 feet over the field it appears.
0525: BRAVE 01 contacts CAPITOL on SOF freq 139.9 and reports on their progress...reports BRAVE 02 is Code 3 for GPS and cockpit lighting.
0528: BRAVE 02 handed over to Andrews tower and reports 7 mile final, ILS runway 19R, full stop...he's cleared to land - and does...349.0
0543: BRAVE 01 to Potomac TRACON requesting ILS to runway 19R for full stop at Andrews...257.2
Potomac TRACON is also loud and clear this morning on 257.2...that's a first for me.
0548: TRACON hands off BRAVE 01 to ADW Tower and he checks in there for the ILS to runway 19R, full stop...349.0
0549: BRAVE 01 checks in with CAPITOL again but this time on 139.7 to let him know he's a minute from landing.
So much for this go-'round of Falcon Virgo. Over and done.

Also have a Volga Dnepr Airlines AN-124 flapping through the area (RA-82081) as flight VDA 4804. He's at FL 310 going from Charleston to Bangor. Picked him up on Mode-S at 0551. There has also been a steady stream of C-17s through the area and currently (since 0552) ETHYL 14 (KC-10A, 86-0027, 305th AMW McGuire). It departed McGuire and has been climbing. By 0607 it's at FL 340 heading SW. Add in a couple of PAT flights (85-1264 and 84-0145). I should get up more often at this time of day.
The two CAP flights from Falcon Virgo were still on my screen until a couple of minutes into the 0600 hour. They just went red.
Also hearing ground station on ZDC-Brooke 126.75. Most definitely another first.
