Thanks René as that closing going to make things difficult at McGuire.
That leaves McGuire with only the shorter 18/36 runway in op.
Not sure if a fully loaded KC-10 or KC-135 can take off on that shorter
7k runway vs the 10k closed runway 6/24.
Dover has newly refurbished 12k runway 14/32.

Did anyone happen to log a Brasilian military flight today? I picked up an aircraft calling Patterson Metro with a very distinct accent - it sure sounded Brasilian - this evening; it was weak, but I think the last two numbers were "82." Logs to follow.

Yes, I logged him yesterday in New England. Here's what I had:
0257z 135.700 BRAZILIAN AIR FORCE 2582 check in w/ZBW, FL380.
0307z 135.700 BRAZILIAN AIR FORCE 2582 descending from FL380 for 210.

Here's info from a person who had an SBS box:
VC-99 FAB2582 is the serial

Yeah Ron there is a lot of them coming.
Just go into FAA database and search serial #s FL-320 and up
and you will see lots of deregistered BE 300's 12/08/2009.
Some for export but most for future MC-12W's.
The dereg serial FL-*** ends up in the final USAF tail like
FL-642 for the above example 09-0642.

1845z BLUE 71 handed over to Boston center on 133.450, likes to depart the formation and the A-10s TREND 21-26 will continue in the block 200-240.
1847z TREND 21 flight checking in on 133.450 aswell.
1850z BLUE 71 is cleared to Dover AFB.
1852z TREND 21 is cleared via ACK, Rifle, RBV to destination Martin State airport.
1905z REACH 515 flight checking in with Boston center on 133.450 aswell. Could be dragging the "AV" F-16s to Eglin.
1912z CLEAN 51 checking in with Boston center on 133.450, cleared to Dover AFB.
1914z REACH 515 has two F-16s with him, TABOR 71 and 72.

As far as I can tell ZD950 L-1011 still hasn't departed Dulles. That one came in really early Saturday at 0220 local as RRR9389.

I was surprised when I checked my recordings from this morning to hear a NAOC exercise taking place:

"Wright-Patterson AFB is under alert conditions all aircraft remain clear of Class D airspace until further notice."

MILL 64 (E-4B, unid) checked in with ground advising that they were starting engines. Several minutes later they called back for clearance and taxi:

MILL 64 cleared to KFFO as filed, except change route to read SGH > APE 260r > APE > AIR > then as filed. On departure fly runway heading and maintain 3000, expect FL290 10 minutes after departure. Departure frequency 118.0, squawk 4013.

Ground advises them to use caution during taxi on right turn, security forces at 4-5 o'clock. After taxi and positioning on 23R, the tower cleared them for takeoff; 64 cancelled takeoff and told the tower they could terminate the alert, then taxied back to park.

I've got a recording if anyone would like to hear it.

77FS deployment

The Shaw Vipers should be departing tonight between 0200 AM and 0400 AM local time .....

The 77FS deployment was delayed, now departing tonight at 0300AM:

Storm postpones Shaw pilots' departure 25-01-2010

A violent storm that ripped through South Carolina postponed the deployment
of pilots and F-16 fighter gets from the 77th Fighter Squadron "Gamblers"
from early Monday to early Tuesday, Shaw Air Force Base announced Monday.

The pilots are now scheduled to deploy at 3 a.m. Tuesday from the Shaw
flight line, according to a news release.

These pilots will be the last of more than 300 airmen from the 20th Fighter
Wing to leave for Iraq in support of a four-month air expeditionary force
deployment.

According to Lt. Col. Lance Kildron, 77th Fighter Squadron commander, the
pilots will fly close air support missions in Iraq to support troops on the
ground.


So another try in a few hours ...... happy listening !!
